Jesus says that when you serve the least of us then you're serving Him. What are you doing in your life that demonstrates your love of the less fortunate?

Since you want to know, me and my sons help clean up our local parks, serve at 2 soup kitchens, and my husband and I do street ministry where we donate items from our community such as clothes, food and baby items, and we pray with anyone who wants it. We also take prayer requests and have our church pray for them every week. My husband also runs a Bible study for college students.

My point is not to have people brag about what they do. (Most of the people out there doing things have no time to brag.) It's just refreshing to know that there are people out there who take the Gospel seriously. It serves as motivation to me when it seems like no one cares about the state of our society.

I'm sponsoring a child in the Philipines through Children International. I would sponsor more people and do more myself, but right now I'm a pre-med student with no additional income. When I finish my education, though, I will become a missionary and help out in other countries with free medical services for the poor, as well as spreading the gospel of Christ. That's my plan, God willing :)

I could do a lot more, though, and should. I'm gonna think about it now, see if there's any way I can do more...

That's a good question and you're right that this is to be done. That being said, Jesus also said that when it comes to giving that our right hand shouldn't know what our left hand is doing so not to be boastful. Therefore, it would be wrong to get on here and start bragging about what I've done to help. I will say that my conscience is yet never satisfied in how I can serve my Lord by helping others.

Helping the less fortunate are two things. First there are less fortunate that really needs help, so we tried to raise funds if needed money especially for hospitalization or services is given free if professionals or volunteer-ship. Second type of less fortunate are those who taking advantage in this goodwill helping such type of people is not really helping them consenting their indolence.

I donate my time at our local nonprofit hospital. On the weekends we help clean the streets..I started a "recycle" drive..Where everyone in the comunity leaves out there can and bottles for me instead of the recycling people..I then drop those of for 5 cents each and donate that money to the city homeless shelter..Once a month I go door to door asking for canned goods that people do not use or want anymore..I drop those off at the shelter also..I'am a stay at home mom..and started babysitting the children of young teens who decided to go back to school..for free

TAKING MY LUMPS. Seems like everywhere I go, I end up having to stand up for people. Because they try to get me!
I stood up for some people regarding racism, homeless
shelters, disabled companies, mental health organizations,, supposed to help people.
And not once, did anybody esle back ME!
But I'm learning a lot about the Laws, and I feel this will be
important for something later on.

I am cooperating with Matthew 24:14.
The less fortunate could use some good news.

I am not a christian, but I volunteer with a group that looks after end-stage AIDS patients. We don't give medical care, but we make house visits, cook meals, do chores, run errands, and just spend time with them.

The Over-all objective isn't to demon-strate.
Higher objective: get above demon-strating.
Via: "with all thy getting, get understanding".
Result: thy head crowned with "grace" glory.

"Thou art no more servant" is "above a servant".
http://www.godshew.org/AboveAServant.htm
"Be no more children" is above 2 sorts of "children"
http://www.godshew.org/GodShew.htm#nomorechildren;
Especially above being "more the CHILD of hell" in Mt 23.
http://www.godshew.org/Allegory3.htm ("worse"-end)

The exhortation is to "be not highminded" as "children",
who get tossed to & fro by every wind(spirit) blowin ww.

Ppl recovering from gettin high speak of a HIGHER power.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.

I'll usually buy food for people that beg for money outside restaurants. I don't like giving them money because I don't know that they're going to use it for food.
