This is one of those stupid Quiz's on TV and I have the question and the answer and I can't work out how on earth they got there.
Anyone any ideas??
The riddle is:

Four times three =
12 x 5 + 7 =
15 - 9 =
Add all the numbers!

Ok? Well the answer is apparently 2339 but I can't work it out - anyone fancy a challenge??

i assume that we have to use '3' four times with any operation.
say ((3)^3)^3)*3.
This comes to be ((3)^6)*3
= 729*3
= 2187
12*(5+7)
------------
= 144
15 - 9
------------
= 6
total 2179+144+6 = 2337.
almost there :(

12 x 5 + 7 =144
15 - 9 = 6
Add all the numbers(as in answers)= 162
unless you mean
the numbers in the question (12+5+7+15+9)
then that would = 48
am i right?!

4 x 3= 12
12 x 5 + 7= 67
15 - 9= 6
12 + 67 + 6= 85.
But that's not what it's meant to be.
so...
i tried multiplying them.
12 x 67 x 6= 4,824.
Which is not right.
So either, me, or the TV show said a wrong answer.
Or maybe you work it out using the numbers.
Eg: if you had the answers 23, 8 and 5 and had to make 63, you would do 8 x 5 + 23.
so...
12/6 = 2.
12 x 67 x 6= 4,824.
4,824/2 = 2,412.
2,412 - 2339 = 73.
And 67 + 6= 73.
2,412 - 73 = 2339.
Voila.

i've added ALL the numbers, but keep getting different answers. none of them are even close to 2339.
