There was a question earlier about aggressive 4x4 drivers having gorgeous girlfriends And I wanted to expand on this.

I drive a pretty flashy car (by the way, I'm 40 and happily married - I have this car because I like it, not to pull girls or show off) and I was blissfully unaware that anyone, especially women, could care less what car a near middle-aged man like me drives. However, my friend followed me across london in his car, and when we reached my house he told me that he could not believe how many women really checked me out from other cars and the pavement. When I told my wife she said that she got very different reactions from men when she drives it - some cut her up badly, some want to race her, while others honk their horns or try to chat her up when she's in traffic (especially when she's got the hood down).

I personally have never 'checked out' anyone in a flashy car. I couldn't care less, maybe it was the car they wanted, I'm not a driver so it doesn't bother me at all. My husband drives but it's not his motor I'm interested in if you know what I mean, wink, wink! You would have to be pretty shallow to have that on your check list for a guy.

I am 41 and drive a fast mustang and get reactions as a to men wanting to race. The will have slow pick-up trucks etc. and will drive the piss out of that vehicle so I won't out run them!! I find it sooo funny while I just zoom buy. Why is this? I am in the USA.

Anyone who rates a man by the car he drives must be so superficial they are not worth bothering with.
A car is only a machine to get you from A to B, who really cares about the make?

Actually I will look at the car not the person! I dont care the driver except if he/her drive badly on the road then I will look at the driver!

What ever happened to people being attracted to one's personality? Now you have to have a souped up car to grab one's attention and affection? How sad. I'm the type of woman who's attracted to personalities more than looks or status, et cetera. That's what truly matters.

Flashy cars are attention-getters. Everyone wants to know what kind of person is driving that car.

only shallow people would fuss about what others drive. there's more to life than cars. usually men drive bigger cars to make up for smaller things...pretty much in the same way some talk big...

The flashier the car the more unattractive a man. What is it they say about penile extension? Smacks of vanity or insecurity or nothing in particular.
