It's a total misinterpretation of the story of Lot. People who read the Bible in context will see this. But to answer your question, yes, unfortunately, homosexuality has not yet found its place in Christian society.

Most Christians I know don't open up that can o' worms unless they're provoked. It's a losing battle in today's society where everyone has been conditioned to regard such sentiments as "homophobic". It's unfortunate, but that preacher was doing his duty.
And it IS a preacher's duty to spread ideas and be critical of falsehood. It dates from the early days of rhetoric. Preachers, priests and pastors were the original rhetoricians.
You'll find Christians of every stripe, but there are many Christians who are unwilling to say anything even remotely unpleasant. Most Christians I know realize that homosexuality is an unGodly lifestyle and can be critical of it, but won't broach the subject except in polite company.

No. I am a Christian and I don't believe his views. I believe however, that homosexuality is a sin. Jesus loves everyone and can save any sinful soul. So, I love everyone and I'm not here to condemn because I've sinned in my life. Again, no this is not a commonly held " TRUE Christian" attitude.

Homosexuality is a sexual sin, a behavior contrary to nature. It is similar to other sexual sins that are also contrary to God's plan for His children here on earth. I wouldn't want a known philanderer, gigolo or prostitute teaching my children in public school because they might try to teach them their own erroneous ideas of life. By the same reasoning, I don't want a "gay" person teaching my children for fear that they might try to rub off their lifestyle on the children in their care.
I want school teachers to be moral people that can give a proper example to my children. Those engaging in immoral behavior (adultery, fornication, homosexuality) do not qualify as good role models or examples for my children. They need to change their ways first before being given the responsibility to guide my children.
Having said that, I also admit that many of my children's teachers may have been guilty of some of those infractions but I was unaware of them, or if aware, not in a position to prove it or change the arrangements. As such it has been necessary for me to monitor my children's education to correct any mistakes theirs teachers may have imparted to them.
The Christian attitude, as you phrase it, is to hate the sin but to love the sinner. How else will we ever hope to reclaim the errant person back to a Godly lifestyle?

This is a common attitude for "religious" christians. by religious i mean those who follow religion and not Christ. Christ loves all people, but hates the sin. I do agree that homosexaulity is wrong, however, it is the sin that is wrong and not the person. the person should be embraced and shown the truth in a non condemning way. the same would be for a liar, a cheat, a thief, etc.

Does it actually SAY that it is a sin in there? On what page.
Some Christians think all black folks should be drug behind a car (KKK supremist christians)... so in effect, some christians are cheeseheads.
Evolution exists, people. The Bible is just a book.

it may be any kind of motives. Your boss could be on a church committee and be buying something on behalf of the church. or possibly your boss became there whilst the pipes broke and paid the plumber and the church is paying him decrease back. or perhaps your boss is handing over the money to a soup kitchen or some adverse needy family individuals he's conscious because of the fact the church desperate to help them. There could be any kind of motives. seems the preacher's reaction became somewhat unusual as you defined it, yet hi, some incredibly everyone seems to be unusual.

I don't hold that view, though I do believe God when He said homosexual behavior is sinful. I don't think that we should pass laws promoting their ability to engage in sinful behavior (it's also unhealthy, since most of them don't use protection, thus facilitating the spread of STDs which are much more common among homosexuals than heterosexuals due to their promiscuity), however, I think they have the ability to teach a class. My only concern is that it may be that their lifestyle will affect what and how they teach which can affect the morals of their students. That's my only concern, and it's a slight one. I think they'd have to intend on making their sexual behavior a subject for it to become one in class.

No, a lot of Christians have a live and let live kinda policy. I don't pass judgement on others gay or not. However, we do want to save people from an eternity in hell so we will try to talk to you about God/Jesus.
