Some people think they have all the right answers, some people dont know when to listen and then there are those who think you are not capable of figuring things out on your own.

If you open up and discuss a problem, you've opened that gate for input. I know it can be annoying, but consider that the vast majority of the time, people offer advice because they are trying to help you. They are displaying an act of kindness, even if it doesn't always come out that way.
Just smile and say thank you, and file the information away in your brain for possible future reference - hey, you never know. Or, if it really bothers you that much, don't talk about personal issues with those people. But I think you'd be closing yourself off to great social opportunities.

Are you really asking now? Because this question on a Q&A format seems to be a bit of a pickle. You're asking for an answer to why people offer advice without being asked? An interesting turn of events, wouldn't you say?
So, really, do you want to know?

Why do you feel it's OK to run your mouth and the other person shouldn't get a chance to speak on the subject?
Not to mention that if your complaining which equals you are upset about something and the person you are b**ching at cares about you than they would want to give you advice in hopes to help you figure out your freakin issues.
Here's my question! Why do people want to b**ch if they don't want advice? Stop complaining!

They give advice to communicate. Isn't that what talking is about in the first place? If you do not want to communicate why are you asking questions?

Some ppl just from habit naturally jump in and give their opinion. Maybe they want to be helpful. Ever thought of that?

Well, I think they are trying to sound important. However, realize that you run the risk of getting unwanted advice when you discuss personal matters with others.
Perhaps you can head them off with "I'm not looking for advice, I just need to vent! Arrgh!" :o)
Good luck!

I ran into somebody like you once before. She went on and on about her problems. I offered her advice, and she snidely asked "Why do people feel they need to give advice when NOT asked?"
So I told her to STFU.

If you are talking to them about it, then yes they probably think you want advise. If you don't then don't bring it up, Or ask first if you can use them to vent, but make it clear you just need to talk it through, or blow off steam, not to be given advise.
