Why are all the christians and atheists on this site SO obsessed with the others beliefs? Why is it so vital to everyone to DEMAND proof of the others beliefs and to try so hard to convince them they are wrong?, to insult and degrade each other?
Christians: If u have such a problem with atheists/evolutionists and cannot believe that the Bible is wrong, why can't u just be happy knowing that in the end u will be in Heaven with God and we will be burning in Hell? Is your life any better after arguing with an atheist on here? Do u feel closer to Jesus? Are u a better person?
Atheists: Why does it bother u so much that some people believe in Life after Death and a Supreme Being? Does it really matter if they are wrong since the same thing happens to all of us when we die? Is your life changed by them insisting evolution is a lie? Are u really affected by someone else saying dinosaurs lived in Eden 6,000 years ago?

Isn't it important that we all just be good human beings TODAY?

I am not referring to all christians who are merely trying to spread the word of Jesus, and I'm not referring to all atheists.

I just mean the ones here on Yahoo answers who are so nasty and mean and insulting to each other. You know the ones I'm talking about.

If people can't get along and be decent to each other on an internet board, how will they ever get along in real life. It's sad that people can be so intolerant. I do think that people say things on here that they never would dare to say to someone's face in real life. Their anonymity seems to encourage that. But we all should be able to ask questions of each other, answer questions and learn to understand each other by knowing about our differences instead of using them as weapons to attack each other.

Its kind of like being in a gang. You are suspicious of anyone who is not wearing your colors. And if someone walks on your street you are going to challenge them. Hey, where you from? Who you with?

Its human nature and we all growl when someone strange enters the pen. I mean look at how many different camps of Christianity there are and look at how the Muslim religion has all those different beliefs.

We people just aren't happy unless everyone believes exactly as we do. Even the aethists get a bit that way. Are you agnostic or atheist? Do you believe God is scientificaly impossible or just really unlikely.

I'm just glad we can talk about it on the boards rather than fight out in the streets like so many people do today in places like Iraq.

i've got in no way been insulted by using a Pagan, a Wiccan, a Buddhist, a Hindu, a Pantheist, a Greek Pantheonist, or every physique else. I in basic terms get advised i visit hell and that as a lesbian i'm an abomination and that i could desire to be shot in the pinnacle or killed some opposite direction, and different issues that at the instant are not in good condition to sort here; that's in basic terms Christians that i comprehend of that don't approve of homosexuality or Atheism, and the insults I receive are often observed by using settle for Jesus or burn in hell, so I doubt they got here from a Confucian.

When someone is not allowed to marry the one they love because of religion, it matters. When someones life could possibly be saved by stem cell research but religion won't allow it, it matters. When my child is trying to learn science in school and religion tries to say that it's wrong, it matters. There are plenty of issues that religion brings about that make a difference
in people's lives! It's a big deal.

Because many xians are trying everyday to have their agenda pushed down my throat. To ban abortion, morning-after pills, HPV vaccinations, gay rights, etc... So they have lost their immunity from criticism and ridicule (if they ever had one which the crusades and inquisition would preclude).

And it p**** me off when they tell some woman in the pregnancy section who asks if abortion is an option that god gave her that baby. It ENRAGES me to read that shite. What about the women who can't get pregnant? What about those who need expensive and extensive medical intervention to get pregnant? That is highly insulting, condescending, and idiotic. So I vent my spleen at those xians, yes.

I never concede an inch to creationists or evangelicals and neither should anyone else-they want to force their beliefs on others. As regards normal Christians I have no problem with their beliefs. For me it's partly a cultural thing because in Britain we don't have many holier than thou religious fruitcakes so I find it hard to stomach the eccentric views of American conservative Christians.

As a Christian, I agree with you, but not completely. You haven't taken into account that we are commanded to spread the Gospel; we're supposed to be concerned by the fact that unbelievers are going to Hell. If you saw a truck bearing down on a group of clueless people standing on a sidewalk, wouldn't you yell out to them? That's what we're supposed to do. Instead of being offended, atheists and agnostics should accept this facet of Christian behavior.

Also, you haven't taken into account that most attacks here are instigated by atheists/agnostics AGAINST Christians. Unfortunately, many of us lose our cool.

Yes, I agree we SHOULD all be concerned by our own behavior.

Peace.

I'm not precisely athiest. I believe in the god and the goddess. I'm Wiccan. However, Christians get treated the way they do because of the way they tend to treat others. Their own bible says "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and yet they tend to forget to do that themselves.

Well, you see, it affects me because these people (christians) happen to be in the majority in this country. They pass their laws based on their beliefs. They must be shown that their way is not the only way.
