I have no idea why they say that either. My wife and I have been happily married for 11 years and we were married 5 months after we met. I think when you know you know and you gotta go with it.

Oh my! Because when you first get into a relationship you don't know the other person that well. Getting to know each other takes time. The more time you take(going slowly) the better chance you have of knowing whether you really want to be with that person or you just liked the first preview of who they were. In general we try our hardest to impress someone at first, after a while we let our guard down. Once that guard is down that's when you see the real person. The point is so that you save yourself some heart ache from jumping in too soon.

Because when you go slow you get to know the person. Just because you are attracted to a person or you think he is nice and funny does not mean that the person is right for you.

Get to know the person, what s/he thinks, what there religious beliefs are, what there morals standards are. Find out if what you are passionate about is what s/he is passionate about.

In the long run, these are the things that are important.

They want to go slow so they dont rush things and things can not get ruined that quick if you rush things sooner or later you are going to get tired of that person because you have already experienced that with them. So is they want to go slow it means that they really like you and want to be with you for a while.

Because you end up looking like Tom Cruise on Oprah if you go to fast. If you go slow, you actually get to know the person through conversations, which take time.

A relationship base on sex doesn't last very long. You really have to get to know each other in order to make the relationship last. Since the "getting to know you" phase usually comes before sex you shouldn't rush through it.

Because, both partners need time to learn about each other, their likes, their dislikes, their habits.....it is best to move slow, and grow. Plants don't grow overnight. Neither do relationships.

Usualy its after someone was hurt in a previous one. You can't make something happen slower or fast, it happens the way it does. Don't set rules for love, it will just cause more problems. if it's going fast let it, it's called a thrill.

simple..because building a relationship is like building a house..if you burn all the steps...1-what will there be left to go through...and 2-the structure of the house(aka your relationship) wont be solid enough to resist life`s problems
