I'm not sure what things she has tried. But a semi permanent, demi permanent or permanent hair color can cover gray. A rinse cannot COVER gray, depending on the color of the rinse it can highlight the gray to give it an different effect.( for instance if you apply a blonde to gray hair it will look like subtle highlights) But rinses don't contain any chemicals, therefore they do not penetrate the hair shaft and therefore do not lock in color hence colored pillowcases and clothing. Try a semi permanent hair color. There is a great Professional color line called Delyton by It&ly. Only professionals can purchase this color, so speak to your stylist about trying it. There are various other color lines that are good also. And keep in mind that as long as your hair is growing, the gray will continue to appear and there is no stopping that, so you may have to get your roots colored more often. There are also at home cover ups you can look into, Like GreyFree which is like an eyelash mascara thay is used for the new gray hair that likes to pop up right on the hairline when you have an important meeting or a romantic evening. It is temporary and can wash out so if you use it, bring an umbrella if it rains! But other than that, it's great for a little touch up in between salon appointments.

Hope this helps

It would probably help to try going a few shades darker or a few shades lighter. However, if nothing else works, I agree with the person who said you should try going blonde.
