my puppy did that too. get some bitter apple spray for the furniture.

for blankets, shoes, whatnot, when you see him eying it or even in his mouth, gently remove the item, and yell at it. Go all out, hit it, scream at it, say BAAAAAD (fill in the blank). Remember - Dont YELL at puppy, tho!!! that would attention & that will only reinforce the behavior. you can even pet & love puppy after yelling at the item, to reassure them that they are a good dog for getting that BAD SHOE :)

for some reason this doggy reverse psychology works. they dont' want to be associated with that bad shoe! they don't like it & don't want it! after a few or a dozen times they will eventually stop, just make sure to reinforce it & have lots of acceptable chew toys available.

I have a 4 month old rottie cross with sheppard and he's doing the same thing. One thing that was suggested to me that works wonders is a empty 2 litre pop bottle with the label removed. My puppy chews and plays for long periods of time with this and doesn't chew anything else.

Make sure it has plenty of things you allow it to bit on. Toys etc. It's aprtly teething & partly natural play. Gently hold it's muzzle & firmly say no. Realize it has no hands this is very much like a toddler grabing things to play with.

Lots of chew toys, and frozen or refridgerated rawhide toys. *The cold relieves some of the discomfort of teething.

You could try a kong, spry the things you don't want him to chew with hair spray. The taste is bad so it will discourage him.
