Im a very paranoid person, and my boyfriend has lied to me once in the past when we first started going out - he said he'd slept with someone when he was still a virgin. He admitted it to me later, but still one year on, i find it incredibly hard to trust things he tells me because im not a very trusting person anyway. Please don't say to leave him, cos i really wanna make this work....any other ideas?

I gave up sitting around wondering whether my idiotic boyfriend was cheating or not. It drives you insane and you feel depressed all the time. All you can do girlis go with the flow and hope he isn't cheating on you but, if he is then kick him in the b@lls.

Well, he did tell you he lied, so he felt bad about it. That suggests he's an honest person. You should talk to him frankly about your concerns. Get him to tell you his deepest secret. That way, you know he trusts you so you have to do the same for him.
And really, lots of guys lie about who they've slept with. It's a confidence thing rather than a deliberate attempt to mislead you.

its hard trusting people i know i find it hard but if u do really wanna make it work u r going to ave to try and forget that he lied to u and move on or u will not be able to go the distance. just know in ur heart he loves u and will not do anything to hurt u in any shape or form.

two things trust has to be earnt back, but another things is if now he has not given you a good reason not to trust him then dont have any worries against him. Sit down and tell him how you feel the way to a good relationship is not to keep secrets and to communicate

if trust is broken from the start it is hard to regain it, unless he is prepared for you to live in his pocket so you can see and hear what he does and said then i don`t think you will ever trust him! you sound like you have been hurt before! all men lie, not all men cheat, try speaking to someone like a councillor who can try and get you to regain trust within yourself and others. you can go through your doctor and they can recommend you. hope this helps good luck

if you are gonna be in a relationship with someone you need to build some trust otherwise you will not have a healthy relationship. communication is what is important and i think your boyfriend only lied to you to try and impress you-you know guys and their egos.

If you weren't a virgin and he said to you it was maybe to hide his insecurty.

If he hasn't lied about anything else I would relax and enjoy being with him.

trust has to be earned and once broken it takes a long time to trust again
