I have a English Bulldog and when we bought him we went over to the breeders house. To get a puppy we had to put down a $500 deposit and sign a contract. So legally they had record we gave them money and that we get a puppy. Then the time that we went to pick him up to bring home that's when we gave them the rest of the money once again we had to sign another contract. Lission to me find a good breed make sure they are a part of The American Kennel Club. The breeder should give you 1 year contract. That if the puppy dies out of health reasons out of your control you will get your money back or be guaranteed a new puppy with the breeders next litter. Also if your scared about them taking your money and not giving you a puppy. Give them a check. You can track a check but you can not track cash. Never pay full price for your puppy before you get him. That's a clue right there you might be getting scammed. A created breeder will only require payment on time of pick-up and like my breeder maybe a holding deposit. To make you feel comfortable that you will be getting a puppy. Just remember do you research. And good luck!

Finding a local Bulldog club is going to be your best bet to finding a reputable breeder. Around here, they go for no less than $800 and up to $1500. So it's not a cheap breed to acquire. Be sure to check out your breeder, go to their home, see the breeding dogs they have and any puppies.

A good breeder will require that you return a puppy or dog to them if it doesn't work out for you so that they can properly place them in a good suitable home. These breeders care greatly for the breed and will do whatever needed to ensure the safe placement of their litters.

Check out English Bulldogs Rescues, sometimes you can find a good dog on one of these sites, and maybe even some pups, some just need good loving homes, the rescues sites will also list any bad habits that the dogs have, if you are just interested in a pet this is the way to go as it will be cheaper and you will still have a good companion.

why don't you try adopyion?
there are plenty of bulldog adoptions out there.
have you done research on the breed..?
the breed comes along w/many problems from sores between the toes ,cherry eye, bone disease, breathing problems and worst of all heart disease....it's really cruel what they do to bully pups to make them more desirable...from the moment they are born, they start to twist their fronts legs in to give them that inturned look , the pushy down on the spot right below theyre shoulder blades to give them a low slung back.
if you really like the bully try a boxer or a boston terrier....even a pug.

Try petfinder.org you can select the breed you are looking for the area in which you live and the age and sex of the dog you are looking for. You will also be saving a dog from living in a shelter for the rest of its life, or possibly just savings its life. Good Luck KG

Go to a show to meet good breeders. Buying cheap will only get you big Vet bills and heartache, especially with a breed such as EBs.

Please take the time and spend the money and make the trip to the breeders house BEFORE you buy!
