If it is recommended to refrigerate them then you should throw them out. Most likely they are all dead. I use biobeads from Natrol. They do not need to be refrigerated.

I'm looking at my bottle, and it does say to refrigerate after opening, but in all honesty, I tend to think this is bunk. The product wasn't refrigerated when I bought it, and the only protection against the 'elements' was a paper covering across the mouth of the bottle. If refrigeration is so darned vital, then why aren't they sold in the cool cabinet? If your acidophilus was stored at room temperature, not exposed to high heat like from lighting or cooker heat, then I'd say go ahead and use it. It certainly won't make you ill, and as they say - If it doesn't kill you, it's bound to help! :)

I haven't a clue what acidophilus is but anything that is supposed to be refrigerated and hasn't been for 2 weeks is I think ready for the garbage...

If the packaging states they should be refrigerated, then yes, you should toss them.
If it says refrigerate after opening - if the package is still sealed it should be fine.
It can very easily be contaminated by foreign substances, as well as lose most of its effectiveness.
