Hello, U.N.? Is anyone home? Is anyone awake?
Give these guys a call. They are supposed to be doing their job and this provides a perfect example of when they should take the lead and act.
Where are they anyway?

N. Korea doesn't like the US - or the rest of the Western nations for that matter - due to the Korean War. (I believe even Australia had a few soldiers involved.) So ever since the end of the war, N. Korea has been making threats against S. Korea, Japan, the US, Europe, and, well, basically everyone else. You know that kid in the neighborhood that's always telling the big kids to go **** themselves? Yeah, that's N. Korea. No one likes him, but no one's about to step in and beat the stuffing out some little kid, either. N. Korea's leader passed away a few years ago, and his son took over (just as the previous leader took over from HIS dad.) So, the new guy feels a lot of pressure to convince his military and his people that he can be the hardnosed bad *** that his dad and grandpa were. And what better way than to engage in a little diplomatic theater? "Hey look guys! I'm threatening to nuke the US! Look at them cower in fear! I am a big bad m***********, right?!?" Even if N. Korea had the means to nuke anyone, I really don't think they would because as you point out, it would be signing their own death warrant.

here are the facts..first off he is a nut! we have been dealing with his father and him since 1950 ,a fact. all of the administrations have delt with him,a fact! he has constantly defied the usa and every other country he has dealt with..when we closed bi lateral talks with him in 1998 during bill clintons term it was because of his disregaurd to nuclear prolifiations set by all governments,a fact! we refused in 98 to talk with him one on one because he finger pointed everytime to the united states as the guilty party! a fact! so we entered into a agreement with china, russia, south korea, and japan so he couldn't just blame the united states!a fact.when you negotiate with a dictator one on one it is a he says we said cenario!a fact!this gives him the upper hand !in 6 party talks he has to say it infront of everyone and he doesn't want that because the blame game stops..i hope this helps you, this is a problem people don't understand,no one was wrong! we are trying and continue to..

The administration is only working off of the previous admin's treaties and agreements. Which coincidentally has given DRNK the funds and resources to conduct these tests. Is this admin right in everything they do? No, far from it. Are we paying for mistakes from previous administrations? Yes, and we will continue to pay for those errors. Our only hope is to do our research, become informed, and start taking care of ourselves first, the rest of the world second.
