Take 4 Advil Liqui-Gels with a minimum amount of water about 2 hours before your appointment.

I just got my wisdom teeth out last summer, and I will tell you, it was the absolute worst experience of my life! I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just telling you the truth. You probably won't feel anything for the first couple of hours after they wake you up from the anesthesia-in fact, my gums didn't start to hurt until about 3 days after the teeth were pulled. Then I got dry sockets, despite how careful I was being, and it hurt like a BEE_YOTCH!!!! What you need to know is, the older you are when you get this done, the more likely you are to get the dry sockets (I'm 26.) Also, if you're on the Pill (which I am), it's supposed to up your chances for it, too. Just take it easy, don't eat anything except mashed potatoes, no matter how bored you get of them, and take full advantage of the Vicodin they prescribe. I tried to be a tough girl and not take any, and by the time I broke down and took one, I was in so much pain it almost didn't matter. By the end of the week I was popping Vicodin like they were M&M's and I still had to keep going home from work early because I was sick. Just take it easy, is all I'm saying.

When I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed,it hurt a little.I had my brother drive me to and from my surgery.Just don't try to be brave and speak with bloody cotton balls in your mouth;there will be much pain after this kind of surgery so be sure and take the medicaton(if any) prescribed by the doctor.

I had this surgery last year - it really wasn't that bad.

Just make sure when you're recovering, no drinking from straws and don't spit the blood out; these things can cause dry sockets. Keep lots of towels/paper towels nearby to catch the blood (gross, I know) but no *spitting*.

I ate lots of ice cream and instant mashed potatoes.

Best of luck!

There's nothing to worry about. You don't know what's happening and then you just take a lot of drugs until it stops aching. I suggest you get an ice pack. It really helped me to put some ice on my jaws. You do have someone to drive you, right?

It's actually pretty uneventful. You get some nitrous and then you're out and they do everything else.

I didn't think about it too much, just went in and had it done. For the rest of the day after the surgery, I was pretty much knocked out. Overall it wasn't too bad. The cleaning out of the sockets irritated me. I wouldn't worry too much though.

The surgery you won't feel.
Just take good care of rinsing and keeping food out of the holes so that they heal well, and you will have slight pain which you can take meds for.
Get it done, and get on with life. Yes, I had it, and I'm glad that I did. I was homeless and two kind dentists did it for charity, God bless them!

Dont be worried. they will have you take antibiotics so you wont feel as much pain afterwards. just be careful and eat soft foods or else you will be in more pain. The soreness that you will have after wont last very long, unless they had trouble taking them out. Good luck!!

As long as your getting put under, you will be just fine.
Just make sure before they put you down that you will be getting pain medication to take home.
Also make sure you follow their instructions for after care, you don't want to get dry socket!
