I understand my pets are just that...pets...but then I also understand that they bring me a lot of companionship, comfort and are such sweet, loving, animals that are innocent compared to humans. They deserve our care and love and we are blessed with theirs.

Dogs do put off a certain dog odor that if you let it .. it can get a bit irritating.........cats.....if they poop .... their poop stinks.....but so does humans..........Not something to keep a person from having one especially if they realize the many blessings that go along with having a pet.

We have cats and dogs and every now and then I think OMG!! but most of the time I LOVE IT!!

And I admit.............cat poop does smell for a bit after they go..you quickly go scoop and flush and it's gone .....now the hairs...ew................dogs do put off a slight dog odor on our furniture...and more hairs..............oh well.........keeps me busy cleaning....The enjoyment of having them here covers over the few things that can be a bother at times.

You just have to love animals............actually my mother couldn't understand for years and years about how I could feel so much for my cats and then..........she got one. Didn't take too long.............A few years later she has 2 cats................Now she says they are her babies.....not quite as obligated as I feel to mine.....but she loves them and enjoys having them in her life.

ok i have been breeding golden retrievers for over 10 yrs and i live in a single story home with 3 kids and my home does not smell or reek. you need to understand that all breeders are slobs. i am very clean and i have my carpets done once a month even if i have pups and even if i don't either. don't bash the good breeders for loving their animals. bash the ones that don't care how their home looks, or smells.
also i am not afraid to speak the truth about my home. i am a responsible breeder and i take care of my animals and i take care of my home. yes you are getting dogged for asking this question, because there are some good responsible breeders out there and they will probably say the same thing. i don't live on a farm or in an estate, i live in a small city and right now i have 8 puppies running around my home and my home does not smell or reek. i also paid alot of money for an air purifier for my air in my home because we all have some type of allergy. and i don't want to hear that maybe i need to stop doing what i am doing because i won't. you need to know what you are doing when you breed and you need to know what to do while you are breeding.

Guilty, I love all 3 of my dogs and wouldn't trade them for the world. My home doesn't smell either. My dogs take care of "business" outside and we have a steam cleaner for the occasional accident that is inevitable (like if your dog is ill).

Our pets are beloved members of the family in this home. They bring us joy, entertainment and so much love. Not everyone feels this way, but for many, I think it's the idea that you are the pets guardian and that they can't usually get along well without you.

I know my pets are animals, not humans, but I cried just the same when I had to put an old dog down.

I have three Doberman Pinschers which are inside dogs and my home does not smell. I clean my house and carpets, bathe my dogs and have air purifiers.I love my dogs and yes they are pets, but they are a big part of our family.I would do anything for my dogs and they know this and their love for me is dedicated and endless. They may not be humans, but they are my four legged kids and they too have a heart and feelings just as people do. I hope you realize this with your pet. I've been in many homes where there are numerous pets and their houses don't smell. Then again I've been in homes with no pets and they smell of odors.Enough said!!

first of all if your house smells then maybe its cuz you dont bathe your dog and maybe your house isnt clean.
If you wash your dogs and clean your house the smell wouldnt even be noticed.
Also as for people going "crazy" for there pets is because we love them like a kid. They have feelings and they also make you feel happy when your down and in need to talk to. Yes i know they dont talk to you but it seems like they r listening. They help you in a lot of ways then you might think. Fact also that when you are playing with your pet your not stressing or thinking or work and etc so your health is great.....i read in the news.

Because people dont understand the breed or dont understand dogs. By the way, my house does not wreak. I bathe my dogs and I own a steam carpet cleaner. My house smell of soap.

For some people that pet is all they have....I think that most people are pretty responsible with their pets...not haveing to many and such, but some people. as I said, just don't have anything else....I treat my dogs well, they get their shots, they get fixed, they would go to the vet if they got really sick(granted I am not goign to take them in for every little cut, bruise, or bad day, like some people)....But they do need care and love

You're right. I have a dog, and I do treat him special. He has his own personality, and I dunno...I love him. But, he is a dog, and he smells like a dog. I treat him like part of the fam, but he has his place as the family pet. I do have to clean more than usual because I don't like the doggy smell

Reek?? My dog doesn't stink at all (unless she's been rolling in mud, in which case a bath does the trick). I pick up after she goes potty and everything smells just fine. I'm sure it might stink if you owned 20 dogs, but..... come on!
