Jesus Christ is our Savior. He is the tangilbe, human version of God, sent down to earth by God Himself. He made the decision to send Himself to earth to pay the price that we can not pay for our own sins.

I have seen so many answers to your question here, that are true, and right on.
I am really just adding because the answers have inspired me spiritually.
By one man, sin came into the world, (Adam).
For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.
By one man, (Jesus Christ), The sin has been overcome.
Jesus, overcame sin, and death on the cross so that we who accept him as our savior, may follow him into eternal life.
This is a free gift that the spiritually blind, (blinded by Satan), will not and cannot accept.
God would rather we seek Jesus to heal our spiritual blindness, John 3:17, For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
Key word; FREE GIFT!

I can see two possibilities, I haven't decided which one I believe:

1.) A Rabbi who fell in bad graces with the Priesthood of Jerusalem, so they slandered him, but Rav Yeshua (Rabbi Jesus) was was so popular that the people still loved him, so the Priesthood had to bribe the Roman government to kill him before the people turned away from the Priesthood. Power struggle over the people's soul, and the good Rabbi lost out. After his death, he was so loved the people made up tall tales about him, much like people have done with George Washington. He suddenly was made out to be the Son of God whom was sent to be Israel's Messiah, and later went on further to be the world's savior.

2.) A mythological god figure the early Christians based upon the stories of the gods of many different pagan religions.

My guess is its a mixture of the two, that the truth lies somewhere in between.

Jesus the Christ, also known as Jehovah of the Old Testament, is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father, the Son of God, the first born of the Father, the only begotten in the flesh, our Savior, Redeemer, Mediator, the atoning sacrifice for all mankind. He was with God before the earth was created, he created the world by the authority of the Father and governed over the affairs of mankind from the beginning. He came to earth in the meridian of time to fulfill the plan of the Father by going through the mortal experience without mistakes and then becoming the eternal sacrifice to atone for all the rest of us that didn't get through mortality without mistakes. He had and has power over life and death, becoming the first fruits of the resurrection, making resurrection possible for all of us. He then made eternal life possible to all who would accept his sacrifice, repent of our sins and be obedient to his teachings, laws and commandments while in mortality. He is the eternal judge of good and evil and we will be held accountable at the last day for our lives in mortality, be they good or bad.
He is my Lord and my God and the source of my solace and consolation. He has given me a plan for my life and I will follow it to the best of my ability that I may someday stand in his presence and with him share in the Father's Kingdom.
Amen

Jesus is the son of God, who was sent to Earth to be a human sacrifice. Up until Jesus came, people had to make burnt animal offerings to God, where the animals would carry the sins of the people who burnt them. Then Jesus came and said that we wouldn't have to kill animals anymore - that he would be the ultimate sacrifice and carry everyone's burdens with him when he died on the cross. He was ridiculed and laughed at, and this guy Pontius Pilate hated him basically because he was of Jewish descent and he thought he was a liar, so he killed Jesus by hanging him on a cross. Jesus then rose from the dead 3 days later and ascended into heaven, proving that he was who he always said he was - the son of God.

If jesus be god, try this for size

how can he be listening/answering to millions of believers at one time?
If there are 10 look-alikes as him,can we be having 10 jesus or 10 gods?
if someone is willing to die for other wrong doings, can we say that he is jesus who die for other sins?
who is really that someone that will die for all of human sins but still remains undead?
Think about it and think deeply coz it is not as what many think

He is one of about 30 other Jewish men claiming to be the messiah in an era of unspeakable Jewish oppression under the Roman Empire.
