I didn't make myself clear last time, I need to know
1) when crossing the border, they enter my plate number, then what comes up ? the make/year of the veichle?
2) when I give them my drivers license, what comes up on their computer ?
3) Do they have to look a little further other than a just a cursory look at my id to see that I have an old warrant. ?

thanks

Your name will be in the database, and when your license is entered it will flag you. They will then try to determine if you are the person with the outstanding warrant, or if you just share the name. They will eventually determine that you are in fact wanted, and will be arrested. Since you are obviously a threat to flee, you will be incarcerated.
You should have dealt with the issue in the first place 8 years ago. Warrants never go away. The best approach at this time is to contact the US attorney generals office, admit to your error, and ask how the charge can be rectified. Most likely, you will be able to pay a fine, and get the charge (and warrant) removed, and then you are able to enter the US.

any time your license is entered into the border or police computer, the warrant will show up. if the car is in your name and they run that through the computer the warrant will show up. if you show your drivers license your 8 year old warrant will get you a straight ride to prison. don't cross the border.

Just for fun, what was the warrant for? What is your real name and address? If you tell me what border crossing you're planning on using I can call ahead for you. Always here to help a pal.

When the police run your license plate....they see everything....not just make/year. They see your driving record and everything. When you give them your driver's license, they'll be able to pull up your whole record....and yes they will see if you have a warrant.

When law enforcement runs your name/plate they specifically ask for for active warrants. SORRY pal, this is going to get you busted. Any warrant will come up not to mention past history of fines and the such....

if you have a warrant then you have a warrant, it is not just going to go away.......poof! You need to take care of it and then go about your business, the longer you take (knowing this) the worse off you could be when you are tracked down, which will happen, it is just a matter of time.

The warrant stays on their indefinitely until the matter is resolved. This means they either find you and bring you in or you surrender yourself.

the car isn't such a big problem if it is not registered to you.
usually your drivers licence will immediately flag outstanding warrants.
probably you should get legal advice about the statute of limitations....non-major crimes have a time limit, usually ten years, murder does not.
