Why is it when you are the grocery store and you are in line and you have put your stuff on the black belt thingy and the person behind you is like running over you? Why can't they wait at least until you move up a little to start puting their stuff on the thingy? That is so rude! I mean the check out lady has not even gotten half way through with my stuff and I have not even put my debit card in the machine. Its okay if there is room on the belt for their stuff but standing within inches of me and pushing me out of the way with their buggy, that is just mean. Now if they have something heavy, then I offer for them to put their stuff onthe belt if there is room for it. But people just get way to close for comfort in my opinion. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else knew why people are so rude. Thanks!

Look around and listen, many people these days just have no manners or etiquette. It is a very sad reality. I wonder who is raising the children a pack of wolves.Good luck and God bless

My observation is something different:

I think that people are too spread out in lines (especially at Starbucks). Of particular interest is the concept of standing 6 paces behind the customer ordering a latte, as if this were a personal and private bank transaction.

On several occasions, I've asked the customers to "tighten up" the line, because the people at the end of the line (me) had to stand in the doorway and hold the door open because others were 4-5 feet apart from the rest of the waiting customers.

As for supermarket checkouts, what really gets me is the bum's rush I get after the cashier shoves the change in my hand. But that's another matter.

I know!! at first I thought they might like my perfume, but then I remembered I don't wear perfume.

Besides, it's not just the grocery line, when my dad is driving, he does it all the time. I just cover my face in shame and pretend he's a stranger =P jk

At the school cafeteria too. In the bank. At the library check-out desk. People just do it. I guess they just secretly wish they could step on me and rid this world of the bulk of crap that I've become.

Anyway....

I put my hands on my hips and politely nudge my space open enough for me to do what I need to do to get my groceries on the belt and checked. If that means using my buggy to move them, then so be it.

there are people wo care and there are those who dont care! Now its interesting how diffenet people express themselves, some are sublte others fotrceful, aother gentle while others DONT CARE! Be patient with people try to learn from each person in the way they act or react in a given circustance. well, i really don' know whether this solves the solution!

calm down a bit. Yes it it is rude however if it upsets you this much you could do your shopping on line or just politely ask them to hang back a bit as you feel a tad claustrophobic

People are in a hurry and they want to load their stuff right away so the cashier lady doesn't have to wait.

Probably because they are subconciously trying to get closer to the cashier as if that'll help things run along more quickly.
