Listen, if you are going to MAKE pizza, then MAKE pizza. I am a pizza maker at home, and it took a long time to perfect my recipe. I must make the dough and even bread and fry chicken for the Chicken Parm pizza.
I think if I didn't have this broken bread maker, I wouldn't make my own crust. So if you have a bread maker, you can put your crust ingredients in hat for the kneading process. If you must buy it, go to a bakery or pizza shop where they sell it.
We use yeast in the dough because it has to rise. It's part of the dough making process.
As far as making edges, I use a rectangular stone, not a round pan. Once my dough is prepared and ready to roll out, it goes on the middle of the stone and is rolled out from the center and then evenly pressed around with my fingers. For mine, a crust is naturally formed by not putting sauce and cheese within the 1" around the edge and letting it sit for 20 minutes before going into the oven.

If you want to make your own dough, this is the recips I use:

2 Cups of flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 t sugar
1.5 t yeast (rapid rise in the cold section of the grocer)
1T olive oil
3/4 Cups warm water.
If your water is hot, it will kill the yeast, cold will take forever to rise. WARM water.

Again, I use the bread machine to mix it on manual. When it is done mixing, I put it in an oil coated bowl in the oven with a hot steaming towel over top of it for about an hour, or till doubled in size. I then toss the ball of yeast in flour till it is workable, (A FEW TOSSES, too much will toughen the dough) Put it on your cooking surface and spread the dough. I also like to put the dough aside for about 20inutes with some romano cheese sprinked on top before I sauce and cheese it.

If you are going to MAKE pizza, use your imagination. Sausage and peppers, breaded fried chicken breast, meatballs, buffallo chicken strips with monteray jack instead of mozzarella. You can go wild with pizza.
need help, send me an e mail.

I always just buy the premade crusts and add my own toppings! If you are asking how to get a crispy edge, put a little egg white on it and bake it for an extra 3-5 minutes. That should make it crisp! If that is not what you wanted I am sorry I did not understand!

Oh, I get it now, you are trying to get an edge on the pizza because the toppins take over, I see. Make a dough and roll it out to desired thickness, then roll the edges over and that forms a lip on it, fill pizza with toppings and bake as usual, there should be the edge there where you rolled the dough over! Good luck!

Basic pizza crust consists of flour, oil, water, salt, sugar and yeast. Yeast is the ingredient that is activated by the warm water and other ingredients and is what makes the dough rise. In order to get that 'raised rim' around the edge of the pizza known as crust, you have to have first a good ball of pizza dough that will respond to your kneads. Throw flour on your table and roll out to about half an inch and then work with your fingers to the edge until you have the desired 1-2" elevation on the outer rim. I hope that helps.

Don't use yeast. There are very convenient mixes in the store that make it so much easier.

I am really having trouble understanding what you are asking about the edges??? Do you have trouble when you roll it out, use your hands and you can pinch more dough at the edges to make them thicker. When you put the sauce on, you stop about an inch away from the edge. Put it in the middle and spread it outward. Same with the cheese and other toppings.

Also, what makes the pizza at home so inferior to your local pizza parlors is that most of use don't have pizza ovens. But a really good item to have when baking a pizza is a round stone to bake them on. They work very well. Pampered Chef sells them and the rack they go on.

They have the pre made pizza crusts that I tried and they work well. My kids and I just make tortilla pizzas, and they are good and fun. I use the thicker tortilla. Just spread your sauce on the tortilla, add your ingredients, sprinkle cheese on top. Place the tortilla on the grill or in the oven, and brown it to your liking. They are fast, simple, and the kids can help too. This helps me out because I'm not great with pizza crusts either.

Just don't put any filling round the edge and put it in a nice hot oven. If you want an interesting pizza, give your children or nephews/neices a blank pizza base and whole lot of fillings and let them loose!!! My son put strawberries on as well and it was suprisingly delicious!!!

i know a lot of girls that kiss more than one guy in a night, and it usually happens at parties. i don't see anything wrong with kissing... as long as neither of them are involved in a relationship. i've kissed 3 guys in one night before... life is short, have fun...
