Make her a scrapbook of pictures from when you were younger leading up until now. Write or find little poems that go with the pictures. She will enjoy it. It is something that will have a special meaning between you and her!!

OK maybe you dropped the ball for her birthday because you are kinda running out of time. A nice talk in person or on the phone and a picture in a frame always works. But to really WOW her on your next birthday send her flowers thanking her because without her you would not be celebrating a birthday.

Just remember "Do something", a fact of life is she or you may not see her next birthday.
Get a small sweet bouquet of flowers (picking them is fine and a small box of chocolates or a candy bar she loves, put big ribbons on them with a card (make it yourself) and deliver them in person. She will be happy for fresh flowers, thrilled with a little chocolate and love you even more for the words you write and your presence.
I did this special type thing for my Mother for 45 to 50 years and love it when my children do it for me. Happy Birthday to your Mom.

This is the easiest answer yet....
Buy her a Birthday Card.... inside the card you have home-made gift certificates... they are for things like...
1 day off of house work each month
1 day off from preparing dinner each month
1 car wash (if she drives) per month
The idea is that you are doing those things for her on those days so she can have some personal me time.
Now that sould fit your budget quite well!

Make a gift for her. Make her dinner. Bake her a cake. Tell her she is special. Give her 100 hugs. Give her a present of 100 favors from you. Love your Mom. Tell her so.

Go buy a cheap photo album and put pictures of you and your mom in it. On every other page, put a sheet of paper that has a letter of her name and write something about her that starts with that letter. For example....if her name is Mary, you could say:
"M" - meaningful......my mom has taught me the most meaningful lessons of my life and I'm thankful to her for that.
"A" - always there - no matter what, my mom has always been there for me, when I was a little kid and I was sick, or when I got older and needed advice.
And so on.......it won't cost much, but it will me a lot to your mom, because it shows that you took the time to think about her and what she means to you.

Write her a poem, or make her something. These types of gifts are the one's she will hold close and dear, because they were made out of love.
Good luck.

You could make her your own homemade birthday card and decorate it with different kinds things around the house. It will save you money and it isn't a hassle to get.

well depends, you could get up early make breakfast, clean the house for her, cook her dinner. make her a cake, doesnt cost much. take her to a movie, or buy her a good movie to watch when you cook dinner. buy her some candles for the bathroom to take a relaxing bath. any of these ideas are good. im sure she would enjoy one of these.
