My bedroom dormer is long and narrow (23 inches wide by 5 feet long). I have no ideas on how to decorate it so it is an accent rather than the hideous outcast it is. Please help!

Install a shelf with a floor length fabric skirt stapled to the front edge and place a dainty stool in front of it. A small pedestal mirror, tiny lamp and some perfume bottles on the shelf can make a sweet little vanity.....even if it too small to actually use comfortably,at least the space is decorated and gives the illusion of being useful.

Well, because it's a small space, the best way to specify areas is with area rugs. Dont be afraid to keep your furniture off the walls, You can start off with (Browns, Deep Oranges or even a Deep Blue) These colors will make the rug stand out against the flooring.
Then you could work around it to add to the room, Curtains that may go with the area rug you chose. Not too matchey matchey, You can get one that has a touch of the colors from the rug. You can accent the rest of the room with throw pillows. I dont know how handy you are but @ home depot they have these floating shelves that are easy to install and are cheap in cost, they have all different sizes. (even I can put them in). and their great for storing books, cd's, dvd's, or even to display sport items, and they look awesome. As for the walls I think a great idea would be to take pics of your friends or even pics of the female/male body like the neck, the arch in his/her back, Hips, these are sexy parts of a woman/mans but without being pornagraphic, then take to a print store and have them make them Black & white or even sepia then frame them and there is your art work.

i would paint it a different color from the rest of your walls, hang some neat pictures of your favorite things, and i like the christmas light idea along with it. just make it a focal point that sparkles in a soft very personal way, i think it would be cool..

Go see if you can't find any Christmas Lights, and put those up around the top of your walls, that always looks GROOVY!

long bits of nice cloth. white will make it look bigger... so will light furiture and decorative in pretty frames. cheap and you can do it all yourself.
