Sorry about that! You should be glad they are knocking. Once when there was a power failure I felt my way around the bathroom and found a stall that was partially opened. So I went in. I don't know who got a bigger shock me or the dude I sat on. Just kidding.I thought about it though as I sat there in the dark. Once when I was using the wall mount some bikini clad chicks came in. I told them I thought they might be in the wrong bathroom they said no but that their washroom was too full of people to get changed. It was a bit embarrassing but then they were hot so what can ya do.

Say, "it's occupied!"
At least they can't open the door and walk in. I was in my underwear in a changing room because I was about to try on a dress, and this woman just opened up the door without knocking. She didn't even apologize and shut the door; she just stared at me until I yelled, "Get out of here!"

if you're really in that much of a hurry, go behind the bushes, geez!!

Maybe they just want you to know they are there, in case you are just brushing your hair or something (in which case a knock at the door might cause you to hurry).

i as a disabled person always knock on a door because being in a wheelchair it isnt the safest thing to do. bending over to see if there are feet under a stall could cause me to topple out of my wheelchair and hurt myself

No, just say "Busy!".
People need to know if the restroom is really occupied, or the door merely locked... It happens!

They probably just want you to know that someone is waiting so that you wont take you sweet time. At least thats what I think when they knock. I guess it better than, " Hello, can you hurry up please?" right?
