Depends on how big/small the perm rods are. When I wear my hair in Spiral Curls, my hair looks two inches shorter. I do not have a Spiral perm. I relaxed my hair and I roll it up nightly with 45 large two piece rollers and Lotta Body Setting Lotion.

The Shampoo And Conditioner You're Using Should Actually Be Helping You Keep Your Curl. By The Ingredients, They Are Quite Gentle And Yet Very Effective. So I Would Say Some Other Factor Is At Work, Possibly, a Change In Diet,Climate, Medications Or A Hormonal Or Glandular Change. You Say You've Been Perming For Sometime? - Is It Possible Your Hair Is "Over-Permed"? And Hasen't The Stuctural Strength Left To Hold A Good Curl? Your Hair May Also Need A Good "Clairifying" Treatment To Remove Minerals/Medications/Metals And Shampoo/Styling Product Residues. I Hope This Helps!

Depends on how well the perm takes. I'd say at least a few inches.

DON'T DO IT!!!! I had it done 3 years ago and I swear it's only back to normal now. It was lovely for the first few weeks but then I got sick of it and had to wait for it to grow out. My hair bounced up at least 3 inches and the length really didn't suit me.
Think about it strongly before you go ahead. Hope it works out.

I have long hair, did it once when I was younger, lost 3 inches in length and it took almost a year to get my hair back to its healthy former state, Think long and hard before you do it.

I would say about 3 inch depending on hair length and curliness. Try finding people that have had it done and ask them what happened.

My hair is naturally very curly. It is shoulder length when curly and if I straighten it (a long process!) it gets about 2.5" longer. Hope this helps.

it all depends on the size of rod being used... the smaller the rod the more will shrink
