I have been trying to eat those high protein energy bars and most of them is a lot of soy in there... and it messes up my gut. If I take an Allegra (allergy pill) it's not as bad of a response.

Just wanted to know if other people had problems with soy.

Hmmm.... soy protein is difficult to digest, yes, but if you find that anti-histamine is helping you, what you have is not intolerance, but an allergy.

My kids had it when babies and they can eat them now. What we were told in the allergy clinic is to completely eliminate the food that is causing you allergy for 4 months. This means reading all the labels to be sure there are not soy traces in the product you eat. After 4 months, try soy to see if you can eat it. If not, wait for a longer period.

If you have found you are allergic to other foods, you should avoid them to to help your immune system calm down. Sometimes it does and it stops responding against that food, sometimes it doesn't.

Good luck!

By the way, have you tried whey protein instead?
