Because people have abused the concept of "Separation of church & state.". It doesn't mean separate God from the USA. Those that want to exclude God should move to North Korea or China. Those that want to just exclude Christians could move to an Islamic country also. These countries kill people for believing in the Christian God & Jesus Christ.
Our government has freedom of religion in it. No one is forced to be a Christian. We have Christians in our government becaused they were voted in. People can worship any God they choose here.
Evolution has some truths in it, but also has error. The Truth is that God created everything. We shouldn't teach faulty theories to our children. So the idea that God created should be included in any evolution teaching so children realize there are different beliefs being discussed here. One acknowledges God, the other denies God. If you would put both ideas in the same class, children would discern what is theoretical & what is true. God's Word always prove true, so compare God's word with the concept of evolution, then you will find what is true in evolution. Just compare Genesis 1. Look up the Hebrew words. There is a lot of hidden secrets of creation in Genesis 1. Some of it sounds like it goes along with some of the evolution theory. Even the big bang theory. The Word of God spoke. God Spoke with Faith. Things were invisible before they were visible. They were spoken into being. How powerful could that have sounded? The waters brought forth the fish, the great dragons, the birds & the birds adapted to the land. Etc...
Remember, believing in God is not religion or an establishment of a religion. Religion is works based on what one believes. One could religiously read Harry Potter books. That is their religion? No. But practicing the sorcery in them is.
Celebrating Holidays isn't a religion also. Though are based according to some religions beliefs. Celebrating Christmas & acknowledging Christ has been attacked in our schools. Though, that is even on our calendar. There is nothing wrong with a manger scene in our childrens schools. Just because some anti-Christs don't like it. It is part of our culture.

These are not my words but read this and think about it. How can all of this happen without God planning it and creating it?
93 million miles from the blistering surafce of the sun hangs the planet earth. A rotating sphere perfectly suspended in the center of the universe. The ultimate creation from an infinate mind. An unbelievably intricate complex design. A supernatural testimony, an irrefutable sign that there is a God.
The size, position and angle of the earth is a scientific phenomenon to see. A few degrees closer to the sun we'd disintegrate, a few degrees furter we'd freeze. The axis of the earth is titled at a perfect 23 degree angle and it's no mistake that it is. This allows equal global distribution to the rays of the sun making it possible for the food chain to exist.
Or take for example the combination of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere we breathe every day. It just happens to be the exact mix that life needs to prosper, it doesn't happen on any other planet that way.
You see, the Bible says the invisible things of God are seen through His creation, to believe this is not hard. If there's a design, there's a designer, if there's a plan, there's a planner and if there's a miracle, there is a God.
The Scripture says the heavens decalre the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. If we allow our minds to drink in all the truth that surrounds the truth that just surrounds us, creation itself will help us understand.
Did you know the moon controls the tides? It's the maid that cleans the oceans. Even the waves don't crash the shores in vain. The tides drag impurities from the depths of the sea, it's nature's constrant recycling chain.
It simply boggles the mind to think that the stars will rotate with such exact precision that it's true. That the atomic clock, with an error factor of less than three seconds per millenium, is set by the way we move.
Though they silently orbit, the sun, the moon, the stars are like celestial evangelists above. Who circle the earth every 24 hours shouting in every language that there is a God. Atheism is the wedge under the foundation of our faith, trying to topple our relationship with Christ. When the fool said in his heart 'there is no God' he rejects the truth God painted on the canvas of the night. Atheism has never created an artistic masterpiece, never healed a fatal disease or calmed a fear. Atheism has still never given answers to our existence, peace to a troubled mind or even dried a tear.
For it's God who created heaven and earth and flung the stars in space and breathed in the handful of dirt and it became a man. It's God who sits on the circle of the earth and measures the mountains in a scale, and holds the seven seas in the palm of His hand. It's God who sent His only begotten Son to the cross of Calvary to save our souls from Hell and the grave. It's God who creates, God who delivers, God who heals and who is worthy of a thunderous ovation of praise!

I believe the point you made stating "Christians make up 1/3 of the population" still places them in the minority, if you consider that the other 2/3 probably believe in some other creation theory or evolution.
So of course it would make sense that the schools and universities would teach something based on the beliefs of a global 2/3 majority.
Your biggest error, however, is assuming that you can change how other people think and reason any easier than they could change how you think and reason.
There are two schools of thought on every issue, otherwise there would be no thought. Be glad theres a variation, and stop inciting arguments.

I don't know about your idea of major schools maybe the public school that have been taken over by an intellectual elite. But really there are good christian people who except the theory that life evolved here. They make a good Biblical case too. As far as life's genesis science hasn't a clue. They have guesses that make as much sense as the old Babylonian belief that the world was really the back of a huge turtle and earthquake occurred when men would dig into the shell. The question of chirality has to be answered before and goof origin of life theory can be set for by science... Jim

Evolution is nonsense. Tell me how scientists can still use fossils as evidence, even though it's absolute common sense that if you have a fossil of an animal, all you know is that it died. You can't link fossil to fossil, because you don't know whether any of those animals lived to pass on "beneficial mutations" (which evolution is dependant on, but has never been observed) to their children, or if they even had children. Fossils don't prove anything! Take a look at the "distinguished" record that evolutionists have had. Too many of the claims made by evolutionists have proven to be false, fraudulent, or illogical. Evolution isn't science, it's religious propaganda with science thrown in. And 1/3 of the world isn't Christian; I doubt if even 1/20th of the world is. And name 1 single western government that's Christian. I can name plenty that are Muslim, but a single one that is Christian.

Simply put: You have mixed up two belief systems. Revelation and Science: God reveals, man observes.
If there was only one Christian that would be enough. Numbers do not matter, only the sharing of the Christian message as Jesus asked his disciples.
Intelligent Design (Creationism) is a belief. It is not science, something that has theories to explain the facts where a fact is an observation by men [note plural] independent of location. There are no facts regarding God, but only revelation as documented in the bible.
The bible reveals a God who existed before and created very we can observed. Intelligent Design (Creationism) explains the origin in terms of what is reveal: God created the heavens and the earth. Scientific theory of the "big bang" is a theory derived using the scientific method.
You can believe only in science but that belief has nothing to do with God. You believe only what you can observe and you can't get to God by observation. Remember God reveals, man observes.

Ephesians 6:12 - "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
If Christianity and the Bible were true, then Christians do not only contend against other people, but against spiritual forces, one of whom is the prince of this "dark world" - that is, if Christianity were true. If Satan exists, this ruler of the kingdom of the air, then his main objective is to have people believe that neither he nor God exist. If Satan could make people believe that Evolution is true, most people who believe in Evolution (and similar beliefs) would then rule out the possibility of God (or at least the one described in the Bible).
Besides, if 30%-33% of the world were Christians (which I'm not so sure I believe), maybe 1/3 of those are Christians who are serious enough about their faith to stand up. Besides, if 1/3 of the world believes in God and Christianity, then they are contending not only with scientists and researchers, but the other 2/3 of the world that doesn't believe in Christianity.

I believe humans think they must actually be able to prove something (see) before they believe in it. It makes it easier for our human pea-sized brains to comprhend it, if we can explain it rather than believe it. So, when you say weight, I understand that as meaning proof, or provable hypthosis. However if you want weight check this our.
In the begining God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and emoty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2
In the begining the Word already existed. The Word was God, and the Word was with God. He existed in the begining with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was creadted except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:1-5

It seems that you will be satisfied once all the western countries install Christian- preferably Catholic- Governments to rule them and rewrite their science texts and Social Studies texts?
The world had enough from the Christian Theocracy. After a great ravage, it is dying now. Don't associate their outdated dogmas with any stream of science.

Since when is truth based upon consensus? It either is, or it isnt. It didnt matter how many people taught that the world is flat. It isnt.
Likewise, just because many turn their backs on God and the evidence that can be seen of His hand in the world, doesnt mean that He isnt there.
