Concentrate on those things you know you do well. What, you think you don't do anything well? OK, walk through your day analyzing what you do. You get out of bed in the morning. (Good motivation; good habits.) You brush your teeth and wash your face. (Good grooming.) You eat a nutritious breakfast. (Good judgment; knowledge of nutrition.) You pick up your books and go out to school or pick up your briefcase and go out to work. (Reliable. Dependable.)

See what I mean? Even the routine things -- perhaps especially the routine things -- say something about your character.

Because it is character we are really talking about, not skills, when we talk about confidence. You can be completely green about some skill, but if you have the character to pay attention and learn it, you can have confidence. Confidence in your ability to learn it, not necessarily confidence in being able to do it before you've even learned how.

And always remember this: "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." Dumbledore to Harry Potter, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Develop good judgment, self-respect, moral values, and courage, and don't worry about specific skills or knowledge.

Hmmm.. that's a pretty wide-open question! If you asked, "how do you increase confidence in sky diving?"...I'd have said "You DON'T...'cause I'm terrified of heights and falling! But if you mean, in general...just pick something your're good at; it could be anything (painting, music, writing, sports, academics, hunting...whatever!)...and get BETTER at it.

When you do that, start mentioning it to people, regardless of whether you think they care or not. The important thing is that YOU care! You don't need lots of detail, just a self-affirming statment like: "I got an 'A' on my History final", or "I ran a 6-minute mile"..and so on.

The point is NOT to impress others, but YOURSELF! Before long, you will cease caring what others think (except those you love, which is as it should be) and only caring what YOU think.

This is what's known as a "personal best".

When I was in my late 20's and 30's, I decided, for some bizarre reason, to start doing triathlons. I realized that it didn't matter whether I came in first or last, as long as I tried my best.

I had a variety of results (some impressive, some not), but it made ME feel good to know I'd done my best.

That, to me, is confidence!

It doesn't have to be sports...it could be writing, music...anything!

Just do it for YOU...and you'll see!

P.S.: DON'T depend on whether or not other people recognize your efforts! Depend on your own knowledge of your "personal best"!

Wake up every morning and stetch for about five minutes. Look in the mirror and smile. Tell yourself you feel and look beautiful. When you do something at school or work tell yourself you did an amazing job. Even if you dont feel this you are tricking your brain to thinking it. Soon after you will feel beautiful and wont put yourself down for doing a badjob at something..also try flirting a bit more. Smile a lot and eat a lot of fruit and veggies. fat and greasy filled foods make you feel waighed down and gross...which will prevent you from boosting confidence. have fun! xo

I just try to block out what I *think* other people are thinking and concentrate on the task in hand. Whatever I'm doing I concentrate on how best to achieve that result.

Most people are too concerned with their own lives to worry about what you're doing anyway, most of our confidence issues are self-fabricated.

I talk to myself and tell myself all positive things. If your mind believes it, your body will achieve it cause anything is possible. I'm a textbook case of that.

Tell yourself that you are as good as anybody else. You are worth it and you can do what you set your mind to do.
