A 3 port valve has one inlet and two outlets in one valve.
Some have a mid position for "both closed", others don't.
Not to be confused with a 3 outlet valve, which has one inlet and three outlets.

a three port valve is when there is 2 exhaust valves and one intake valve per cylender in the engine..... inline 4= 12 vavles
v6= 18 vavle s and so on.

three valves per cylinder head two for intake one for exhaust more torque! reaper out..........
