Caffeine generally is not good for you. However, I read in the newspaper this summer that having a cup of coffee per day can help reverse/slow down the effects that alcohol has on the liver.
My wholistic chiropractor has told me that I am allergic to coffee beans and that is why I get horrible headaches. But I love the stuff and can not stop drinking it. Sad thing is the couple times I gave up coffee I stopped getting headaches. Oh, well, it's an addiction. But atleast I can get thrown in jail for drinking & driving with coffee.

Some people may have an allergic reaction to Caffeine
but I have never met one. I have been drinking coffee all of my life since a child when my mother mixed it withe half Milk.
Decaf in my book is not safe to drink, because they use two different methods to remove the Caffeine.
One is safe the other is not, but who can tell which one.
Drink your coffee and enjoy the Aroma in the morning, but stay away From those coffee stands such as Starbucks. Their coffee is much to strong even for me. Forget their hype, just make your own coffee and be safe. My choice is Folgers French Roast. it is richer in taste. If you can find some Coffee from Brazil it is even better.
Columbian Coffee, forget it. along with Arabica blends. No taste there at all
I think we build up a resistance to Caffeine after we drink it for a while, because the normal side effects that I hear about from some people, Faster heart rate, nervousness etc. I doesn't have any of those effects upon me. I am laid back calm guy and my heart rate is below 72 BPM

Last week at the American College of Cardiology’s annual meeting, researchers presented the results of a Greek study which found that men who drank more than one cup of coffee a day had 30% higher levels of an inflammatory chemical called CRP in their blood. For women, the news was even worse: a 38% increase in CRP.
Now that's a pretty serious finding. Elevated levels of CRP have been shown to increase your risk of heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis, depression, and many other conditions.
If u choose to drink coffee at least avoid sugar and milk as this makes the concept of coffee even worse. Also it is a known fact that people who consume coffee on a regular basis either
1.Are more likely to smoke
2.Exercise less than non drinkers
3.Eat less fruits and vegetables
And the bad thing is when u drink coffee it takes wayyyy more will power to try and quit,u will go through a withdraw stage which can lead to headaches, nausea, fatigue, shaking and dizziness. It is your choice or whoever elses choice...But come on does coffee taste THAT GOOD???

WASHINGTON - Go ahead and have that second cup of coffee — or third, or fourth. A study published Monday shows heavy, long-term coffee drinking does not raise the risk of heart disease for most people.
Caffeine is not often found to have significant health benefits, but this may be the case with liver disease. A new study (May 2004) has found a link between caffeine intake and a reduced incidence of liver damage.
Avoid stimulatory drinks that contains caffeine which acidifies the body and cause calcium to be withdrawn from the bone. Avoid coffee and tea. Distilled water should also be avoided. Decaffeinated coffee and decaffeinated tea is acceptable in moderate amounts. Herbal tea is acceptable.

Absolutely safe but addicting in a way! Coffee is actually good for you. It's got more antioxidants than tea! Plus, caffeine is not bad unless you have it in excess amounts. Moderation is good for everything. My body has gotten so used to it-if I go a morning without coffee, I get a migraine the size of Texas! I think that's pretty normal though for having a coffee almost every morning for the last 8 years! Bottoms up! =)

Coffee is safe to drink in moderation. Don't overdo it by drinking too much because it can become additive like smoking. If you can't and I mean CAN'T start or get through a day without it you have become one of the millions of people who depend on coffee. It also stains your teeth if you drink too much of it. I'm sure the previous people who have answered this question has posted a site or even listed the effects of coffee. Read up on it and decide for yourself. A cup once in a while won't kill ya. I prefer Taster's Choice...... here and there. Ohh and Dunkin Donuts. I don't care what you've heard they make the best coffee and have the best prices.

There are no health benefits in coffee. About the only thing that you do get out of it is a caffeine buzz!!!!!
The only thing that you may get out of coffee is a caffeine addiction which is quite common in people with coffee addictions.
I used to drink about four cups of coffee a day and then I would drink three or four colas a day. I found that I had a headache most of the time. I decaffeinated myself about 19 years ago and the headaches went away. Since then I drink decaf and caffeine free sodas and no more headaches. If you are worried drink tea instead of coffee. Goo Luck

Coffee, in general, is safe to drink. Decaf coffee is questionable, simply because of some of the decaffination processes.
Methylene chloride processing, ethyl acetate processing
carbon dioxide processing, water processing....
Methylene chloride and ethyl acetate, are chemicals used as a solvent to extract caffeine from the beans, and some of the chemicals are left in the coffee. For that reason I don't drink decaf as a rule.
I was weaned from a bottle onto coffee with milk and sugar, and have drank coffee for about 60 years now. I average about 3-5 cups a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. It depends on the individual. My son does not drink it at all but my two daughters love it, so does my wife.

It mainly amounts to whether or not you want caffeine in your diet.
Most recent studies show no harm to the heart from coffee, and some even suggest that coffe before a workout will lead people to work out longer and more intensely, so it might actually benefit some people.
I choose coffee (black) and unsweetened iced tea in the afternoon. It is definitely better for you than the sugar-water sodas people swill day and night. Remember 12 ounces of soda = 210 calories. 3 sodas a day is 600 "empty" calories...
