DOR stands for Date of Rank. it is the basest of Military rank structure. If 2 or more personnel of equal rank were in a gathering. The individual with the oldest DOR (Date Of Rank) would be the person in charge. If 2 or more had the same DOR then the person who was the oldest would be in charge. Date, Hour, Minute even Second if needed.

It means Drop on Request, in your usage of it. It's a term used in special training. Students find that they do not have the desire to continue to endure the physical and mental strain of training, and subsequently Drop On Request, or DOR, from the course. The tradition of DOR consists of dropping one's helmet liner next to a pole with a brass ship’s bell attached to it, and ringing the bell three times.

However, the common term of DOR is Date of Rank. The day in which you were last promoted to current rank.

Dropped on Request
This is where the trainee voluntarily withdraws from the program they are in.

DOR can also mean Date of Rank, but not in this context.
