When preparing an omelet, eggs should be at room temperature. Allow an hour after they come from the refrigerator.
Do not overbeat the eggs or they will become too thin and the omelet will be tough.
Break eggs into a bowl and beat with a fork until they make a stretchy ribbon when the fork is raised.
Put the eggs through a strainer to remove the white connecting bits.
Have all ingredients ready before you begin cooking.
Use unsalted butter for best results. Salted butter can cause sticking.
Never allow the butter to brown before adding the eggs. It will alter the flavor and cause the finished omelet to be too brown.
Keep the skillet on medium-high heat with the heat readily adjustable.
Omelets should always be served at once on warm, but not hot, plates.
Instead of putting a filling inside the omelet, jazz up an omelet like this: When the omelet is on a serving plate, make a slit down the center and spoon on the garnish mixture. Sprinkle with chopped herbs and serve. This works well with mushrooms, sausage pieces and sauteed onions and peppers. Douse with spicy tomato sauce if you like.
An exception to this is a cheese omelet. When the omelet is set and just prior to rolling, scatter 1/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese over the surface. It will melt from the heat of the eggs.

It takes quite a bit a practise to make a good omelette. Don't give up keep trying.
First of all you need a good omelette pan. Heavy base and non stick.
Put the pan on the stove. Heat the pan up at medium heat. You can either use olive oil or a nob of butter. I use a little olive oil because it doesn't burn. Put either olive oil or butter in the pan and heat it up. When the pan is hot add two or three lightly beaten eggs to the pan, which you have already seasoned with pepper and salt. Stir the eggs quickly with a fork. Don't make scambled eggs. You only do this process for a one or two seconds. As the eggs start to set, lift edges with your fork so that the liquid can run under. Repeat until liquid is all used up but the eggs are still moist and soft. Now remove the eggs from the heat and with one movement press the handle of the pan downwards and slide the omelette towards the edge of the pan and fold the omelette. Then slide the omellete onto a warm plate.

Easy peasy. Crack 2 eggs into a small bowl, whisk with a fork until smooth (should only take a minute or so).
Heat up a table spoon of oil or butter in a small frying pan. This is the important bit: don't put eggs in until the frying pan is sizzling. Then pour eggs into pan, let them cook for a couple of minutes, then take a spatula and gently lift and flip omlette over to cook on other side.
You can grate some cheese into the omlette while it's cooking, or some people use ham or mushrooms.
Eat while hot!

You need a non-stick pan and spatula. First dice up what ever ingredients you want in it and put aside. Then scramble two to three eggs its up to you. Heat pan till a drop of water on pans disappears fast. If you like onions always cook that and the meat first. Put a little olive oil in pan and then put the onion and meat. Brown them and then add the vegetables and seasoning, or mix the seasoning with the eggs, Mrs Dash works great in an omelet. When the vegetables are browned, but not overcooked, add the eggs. When you see the eggs turning a darker color and they look like it is almost cooked add your cheese. Now flip one side up with your spatula carefully, to cover the cheese. When the side down browns, turn over the omelet and brown the other side, it really doesn't take long for the omelet to cook. Place the cooked omelet on a nice dish and enjoy. You can eat omelette's with toast or with salsa. Be creative. Practice makes perfect.

Here's a simple one: crack 2 or 3 eggs in a bowl, whip with a fork for 1 minute. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a frying pan. Set on medium heat. Pour the eggs into the pan. Throw a handful of shredded cheese on top. Turn with a spatula every 15 or 20 seconds. Its ok if it breaks. It should cook completely in just a few minutes. yummm!

this ziplock omelet is so cool and fun to make, and it tastes amazing....try it, you won't regrete it!
- 2 eggs
- Your choice of add-ins (ham, bacon, onions, peppers, cheese, hash browns, etc.)
Set a large pot of water to boil. Meanwhile, crack the eggs into the bag, and shake to combine them. Put in your ingredients and shake gently to combine.
Before placing the bage in the boiling water, make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot.
Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared to be amazed
