In India, we donot see 40th birthday as an important milestone whereas we go ga-ga over 60th brithday. My brother lives in US and I plan to join the family on the occasion.

It depends on how Americanized he is. 40th is not a big deal here in US either. Although we like to have all of our birthdays recognized, it makes us feel loved.

celebrate with a big surprise party cause he reaches the big 4 0. he should enjoy turn in 40yrs old not hate it cause he is get tin older by the year.
