"Insects do not deserve to be eaten alive especially for a gratuitous marketing gimmick," PETA spokeswoman Jackie Vergerio told Reuters.

Has Jackie ever watched the Discovery Channel? I am sorry to break it to her, but millions if not billions of insects get eaten alive every day.

PETA is great for this kind of nonsense, they are an example of good intentions gone wholly overboard

Yeah, but are those insects eaten for "gratuitous marketing gimmicks"?

PETA just doesn't like the idea of killing living, sentient beings. Big deal.

"Did anyone see the roast of Pamella Anderson?...PETA sponsored that also.
What a freak show."

I couldn't take even 5 minutes of that. Courtny Love was completely disgusting.

I agree with #1 completely...good intentions gone overboard. They are like a freaking cult.

PETA means

People
Eating
Tasty
Animals

There was a lawsuit at one time because someone registered the PETA.com and that was their slogan. Had recipes and everything.

It is unneccesary cruel to eat even the smaller worms, which are very nutricious as it happens, fried and baked. I'm told they taste very like chicken in some cases, I've never tried them myself... Have none opf those contestants in quizes well payed for their trouble never wondered, that a worm is a worm....Eating them alive is in my opinion not healthy for the absolute shock for the worm in the chain of life, The Domino ding.. I was a follower until they spoke against Steve Irwin, shortly after his death. Regardless of his antics (some irritating to me, even), he did far more for education, and conservation that Peta has ever done.

Moreover, Steve's fans do not go around killing those who despise crocodiles, or bombing pet stores merely because they think different.

LMAO. I am so not surprised. PETA is notorious for ridiculous stances on even the most basic situations.
