I rub salt all over the joint and leave overnight the thoroughly wash next day before cooking in oil but also you can get steak spice I think most supermarkets do there own but also the larger spice/herb companies do too, sprinkle this all over prior to cooking-lovely smell and the joint is also tender and tasty

Try pushing in whole garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs. Then gently rubbing the joint in oil, with salt and crushes black pepper.

i'd use a bit of thyme, basil, a bit of cayenne, paprika and some english mustard powder and a good slug of worcester sauce.
