Try your local newspaper or a trade journal that deals with your line of business, they all have web sites, if you have a really great product have one of your satisfied customers mention it in a blog. Also use the site of a local or regional business journal.
Go to Linked-In and establish a site there.
When you hire a new employee or are looking for a new employee be sure to post a company bio along with your ad for the position.
Or just post an ad for a position you may be hiring in the future and watch the responses come in, you can create a mini phenomenon especially if your ad includes the promotion I mentioned above.

You can go to PRWEB.com, but I strongly suggest you pay their $119 fee (went up from $80) that will get you tracking statistics (so you know whether it was worth it in terms of response) and post you on Google News, Yahoo News, and MSN.
You also have to know HOW to write PR for the web. If you don't, just fax it to local papers (for free).
I wrote a press release and for three days it was #19 when you typed in "marketing" on Yahoo and Google News - that was higher than releases sent by Dell Computer and Virgin Airlines, which ain't bad!
Let me know what your release is about. if it is something "newsworthy" I'd post it in the appropriate section on my website www.WWW-O-WWW.com. For free, or a nominal cost if you need revisions in the copy.
