He was prob'ly using his Wushu techniques, but as far as using the "pins' that was just hollywood stuff for a dramatic effect, much like I would say is an homage to Bruce Lee and his charater in Return Of The Dragon where his character made wooden darts to attack his opponents.
just hollywood dramatics. there is no Martial Arts in general that emlpoys such techniques as part of a particular discipline

He just manipulated the art,no offense but true..Kung Fu is an art of self-defense,what he do is non-stop showing off the skills at the silver screen..Always n always any master in any martial art will tell the students not to start a fight n put our heads down,don't show off our skills n etc...what Jet Li do is just trying to losing the value Martial Art..Media nowadays..

I believe this is a fictional style. He was using "combat acupuncture".
I have never encountered anything that would indicate this is real
