and it is the only country that ever used Nuclear weapons. Is that of more concern than North Korea acquiring nuclear arms ? Also, considering the recent pre emptive invasions US has involved in, isn't it right that North Korea has the right to defend itself from a possible US threat ?

I can understand the concern the US people have when any other country acquire nuclear power especially a country not in good relation with it but as a non US person I feel more concerned about threat of US to world peace.

Actually, Leogirl... roman is RIGHT ON the mark.

no single country comes even close to matching the unites states's nuclear arsenal, especially after its only serious contender in that field, the soviet union has split into, and its stores of nukes with it.

AND the US are in fact the only country that ever employed nuclear weapons in hostile action.
if you have information to the contrary, i would like to hear it.

as for you, roman, i generally agree. i felt pretty safe, as long as the balance of nuclear horror was intact... i am still confident in the US government, about its refrain from using their nukes, but without the threat of lethal retaliation, the temptation must be rising...
in this light it may be a good thing if the other side... insofar as there is something as sides anymore... gains the potential for retaliation, in order to restestablish the balance of threat...
then again, i am really not convinced that countries like iran and syria are politically capable of a responsible and secure handling of nukes and
other weapons of mass destruction. i see the great risk that radical forces gain the power to employ them and to hell with all nonbelievers...

my opinion is this... the balance of mutual destruction worked in the cold war, when there were basically only two players... but today, the pure existance of weapons of massdestruction adds a whole new dimension to the worldwide problem of terrorism. they should ALL and without exception be destroyed.

that's what you would say if you were N. Korean. I don't think anyone should have that kind of weapon, but if someone has to have it to use as a "threat" to other countries (kinda bully them into doing what you want) I would rather the US have it, since I'm more likely to agree with the US's reasons for having to use it than N. Korea. Not only that, Kim II is crazy. He doesn't care if people die. He's too dangerous to have that kind of weapon.

I think that they should totally re-do the UN (start from scratch) and have the UN be the only thing that's allowed to own a nuclear bomb

1.)Russia has the biggest stockpile of nuclear weaponry out of any nation.

2.)No one should worry about the US stockpile of weaponry. We only use it when absolutely necessary.(WWII)

3.)The US is not a threat to world peace. World Peace will never exist. It is a utopian ideal created by ultra-liberals. Everyone has different beliefs and ideals, and as long as these ideals exist, then there will be conflict.

4.) Also, the US is very responsible. We are the ONLY nation to ever have the power, ability, and resources to take over any other nation on Earth, or enslave any people, but instead we act as a beacon of hope to the world. We have never attempted to take over another nation. Instead of taking over poor nations like the USSR did, we provide them with aid, whether it be military, economic, whatever.

Also, many people are unaware of this, but North Korea has no "right" to nuclear weapons, to research them, or to defend themselves using them. This isn't just a US thing. This is the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The only nations who have the right to nuclear weaponry are the US, UK, France, China, and Russia. India and Pakistan have them illegally as well as North Korea.

you're very silly. whilst Iran manages to purchase the nuclear weapons technologies that it desires to strengthen Uranium to weapons grade, a number of that weapons grade Uranium would be diverted to Muslim Terrorists. Iranian risk-free practices is extremely unfavorable. as quickly as Iran starts enriching Uranium to weapons grade, a number of that weapons grade Uranium would be transferred to Muslim Terrorists no rely if the Iranian government needs the pass made or not. whilst Muslim Terrorists get their palms on weapons grade Uranium they are going to use it to make crude nuclear weapons and smuggle those weapons in delivery bins to Chechnya, India, Spain, the folk's Republic of China, and the u . s . a .. whilst the Muslim Terrorists are waiting they are going to detoante lots of those weapons on the comparable time. the diverse weapons would be saved undetonated till later to create terror. whilst that occurs your superb comfortable comfortable existence will replace for the extra severe in procedures which you may't even think of. it extremely is going to be your worst nightmare. that's the commencing up of international conflict III and the top of the civilized international as all of us comprehend it. existence will replace into brutish and short. existence could have little or no fee.

i think good ol' Georgie boy is just p*ssed they didn't buy them off him. have you ever seen any of bill hicks' stand up comedy? I'd recommend "sane man" the guy was a genius and although what he says is about bush senior it actually fits perfectly to today's American government.
Iran and north Korea both have a right to defend themselves but i don't think it's right for any country to have nuclear weapons.
and as for world peace, only when we are all American under the rule of emperor Satan w bush can we accomplish this feat

Actually, the Russians have a far larger arsenal of nukes than the U.S. And theirs all had larger yields, too.

Yep, we're the only ones to have ever used nukes. That was a controversial decision in a violent war against an implacable enemy more than 60 years ago. So, in all the wars we've been in since, how many times have we nuked anyone?

Oh, cat got yer tongue?

I'm one with you. What is good for the American goose is bad for the NK (or Iranian or Iraqi or any other one from the so-called third world) gander. My friend, do not worry yourself for nothing. Those that the gods want to destroy will not learn from any past lessons. God destroyed the world with water the other time. War technology will do it this time around.
