What does prosecution really solve? If these boys are underage too the only crime they have really committed is being young immature and irresponsible. Many people will say that underage kids shouldn't be doing those kinds of things, while this is true, can they not get carried away. As adults we do, and we are supposed to be matured & responsible and yet we can make mistakes.Do adults not have unplanned pregnancys? So why can't teenagers? These kids need guidence, from schools & their parents. Many teenagers couldn't ask for their parents advice on personal matters like sex, hince the number of underage pregnancys that happen every year.

The law is a very complex thing. The police, if informed have to take everything into consideration, girls age, boys age, families feelings etc. They will only prosecute if it is in best interests of those involved. There are so many different scenarios that it would be impossible not to take each case on it's own merit. Some young people are prosecuted, some are not. Most cases we do not here about, due to the age of those involved.

It in all probability would not paintings - maximum of them have in all probability been standard shoppers at infants court docket already. the only element which may be finished approximately that's to get the underage mums' very own mothers and dads to exercising some parental duty over them. Its' enormously glaring that in case you return from an environment the place there is little clever theory approximately kin making plans, you are going to think of there is not something incorrect with banging out young ones at age 12. Everytime this occurs, the papers practice the mum-to-be with the proud grandmother-to-be (father ususally absent) exhibiting off their suited hoop-jewelry for a image in the on a daily basis replicate. And subsequently the cycle starts throughout lower back. possibly if extra mothers and dads knowledgeable their young ones that having babies once you're nonetheless at school is a rubbish theory and may be the commencing up of the top of your existence, then it may take place much less.

Prosecuted for what, statutory rape? If the father is underage himself, then he hasn't committed a crime.

I know of many cases where men were prosecuted for having sex with underage teens, whether the girl had a child or not. Same with women and underage teen boys - Debra LaFavre for instance, or that crazy woman Mary Jo whatever who's now married to Vili whatever.

So I really don't understand the point of your question.

You must be referring to that TV programme on ITV mon' eve?
I sat through it and was totally infuriated by the whole issue of teenage pregnancy.
You're absolutely right, the Fathers should be held accountable for their actions, and prosecuted for getting these schoolgirls pregnant. Unfortunately the laws an ar*e regarding this issue because it's down to the discretion of the Mothers.
Personally I'd like to see a law that forbids any teenage girl having children if under the age of 16, maybe 18. Radical and very controversial, but how else are we going to cease the growing trend of schoolgirl pregnancies, without taking some drastic measures?

Most of the dads are themselves under 16 and the police do not usually prosecute in this situation.

This could be a bit tricky if it involved foreigners - for example the age of consent in Spain is 14, and anywhere in the world for Muslims it is 9. As Muslims are taught that adherence to the laws of Islam overrides the laws of a country, they would probably claim that they were immune to prosecution anyway.
Edit: Rather than withdraw my posting, because it is important, I must humbly apologise for stating information that I had not checked, and had been misled on. The age of consent for Muslims varies throughout the world, but is basically the same as the laws of that country state. It is often, but not always, as low as 13, which is significantly higher than I had stated. Apologies to all, as I pride myself on trying to be accurate and truthful, and thanks to Christine H for pulling me up on it and causing me to do the research I should have done. Hopefully they are being prosecuted , if he is over 17 and having sex with a girl under 16 doesn`t that make him a paedophile ?

They would have to be turned in and if nobody is doing that then nothing will happen. if the boy is underage as well..there is no crime though. I am assuming you are talking about boys that are legal adults (18) sleeping with girls under 18.

Would be brilliant if the governments would step up and do something. There should really be some consequences, not only for the girls and their partners, but for the parents.

We talk to our kids about the risks of premarital sex and the serious need to protect themselves from unplanned pregnancy and STDs. So far, not a slip up. Knowledge is power.
