We have the same people running this war as we did in Vietnam, telling us the same lies.

Answer:
Because we have spent all this money putting men and
equipment in place to fight a conventional war against
an unconventional enemy.
They send a car bomb against our new allies.
We send jets and helicopters into a general area
somewhere around where the fighters might be.
They send three men to blow up a pipe line.
We send a column of military vehicles and a
pipe line repair crew to the problem area.
One man sets up a roadside bomb.
The bomb is detonated as a US Convoy rolls through.
US Soldiers are killed or injured. The Convoy is
delayed or rerouted back to its origin.
A crazy guy straps a bomb onto his body, dons
sheets and robes, and walks into a crowd to detonate
the bomb. His mind is filled with all kinds of jibberish
that he has been fed for the last 6 months during
intensive training.
We send in medical teams and troops. No effective
counter measures or counter attacks are made.
This method of fighting a "WAR" is so ludicrous that
it is finally becoming a public issue at home and in
Iraq.
It is time to begin targeting the leadership, targeting the
sources of propaganda such as TV Stations, Networks,
and Internet sites which publish insurgent views and
teachings. Until you silence the rable rousers, and
mount an effective religious offensive there will be no
victory. More and more men will be wounded and
killed for no apparent reason.
If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we shut down Al Gezera. Why can't we terminate a few
Internet Servers? Why can't we silence a few
militant extremeist Mullahs? Because that is not
the mission we are on? Because that is not the way
we do things? Please, give the American Public a break. Just guide those Intelligent bombs exactly where they need to go.
You can kill ants all day and all night. They keep coming back. But, if you kill the Queen of the Ant Colony, you kill the entire nest. Time to start killing some Queens?

It took more than 8 years in Japan. It took more than 30 years in the Republic of Korea. What exactly should we have learned about vietnam? It is one of the most repressive nations in the world (10th worst). It Vietnam we learned that there are lots of armchair warriors that cannot tough it out. People aren't against the war in Iraq because of a conflict of ideals, they are against the war in Iraq because we can't "win it" as quickly as the first gulf war.

You think a war can be fought in 3 years?
How long did it take for us to quell the resistors in Germany after WWII? How long did it take us to quell the resistors in Japan?
Perspective is everything and you my friend have none, this is not something that can be finished in a half hour sitcom.

Oil is involved in this case, and it's worth dying for. How much more committing mere money.

In Vietnam they were not planning to come to the U.S and blow us up and try to convert us to their religion.
