JohnRingold and anyone else that says "yes" is very wrong.

No, there isn't time. My hubby is a Drill Sergeant in BCT. They train all day. They train on the weekends. Everywhere they go, there's a Drill Sergeant. They don't even really have any free time. After evening chow, they still train for a little while. Then it's up to the open bay barracks to prepare for the next day. They have to get everything laid out, shower and have lights out at 9pm. The Drill Sergeant is there the whole time. Here, we don't have female recruits. They're not even exposed to females, unless it's in the chow hall. They go no place alone. Even when they go to religious services, a Drill Sergeant is there.

The only issue is, if you're worried about cheating this early on, what are you doing to do during deployment?? All branches of the military have TDY and deployments of some sort. If it's Army, he could get sent to Korea....that's a year unaccompanied. Now's not a good time to start worrying....time apart only gets worse.

The answer to this question is... YES !!! not trying to bust your bubble or anything bu tthe truth is yes. When there is a Will there shall alwyas be a WAY !! During basic training the days are long. The training is rigorous, and the stress level is high. Fraternization is not authorized. But human nature and needs are still the same. 21 years ago when I went through Basic Training it was going on then and I am sure it is still going on now. They just met in the Laundry Room. Everyone has to do laundry. Time + opportunity = Cheating on wife or husband. The actual question you should of asked was is your Husband cheating on you ?? That I have no clue on. You know your Husband. Has he cheated on you in the past ?? Has he ever made you think that he has cheated on you in the past ?? Have you ever cheated on him ?? If you have answered no to all of those questions than it is unlikely that he is cheating on you. 1, 2, or even 3 yes answers still don't mean that your husband is cheating on you. Being prosecuted under UCMJ is still a pretty big deterent. The Military is just about the only place left in the US of A were a married male or female will get sent to prison because of Adultery.

Are you basing your thoughts on the fact that your husband doesn't call or write home often enough ?? or on something else ??
Hopefully all will be well between you. Being a Military Wife is the most Difficult Lifestyle in the world. No civilian will ever be able to understand.
Running a household as a single parent, never knowing when your spouse will be deployed, where they went, what they did, or when they will return, or if they will return alive or dead... I was always glad that I was the one who was deployed. I had it easy, I only had to deal with my mission. MY wife had to deal with the kids, her job, the military, and all of the other day to day operations of LIFE !!

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you and your husband.

Heart - Sorry but as I said earlier When there is a Will there is a way. Soldiers in Basic Training are not on Lock Down. They are not in a Cell. They are in Rooms or Open Bay Dorms. Yes there is a FireGuard, yes there is a Drill Sergeant on duty. Usually the DS is either asleep or watching TV.

Someone wrote they don't even have time to think about it. I would say that's a huge thing on their mind since most don't get the opportunity to do anything about it!
While it's unlikely a guy has a chance to cheat, it does happen. It has happened between those in charge with the recruits, and it has also happened with two recruits. And no, they do not have to be homosexuals, some divisions are co-ed. Mine was co-ed. But again, it's unlikely.
But what I do want to say is this: if you are already having worries when he is only in basic, what are you going to do if he gets deployed to a different country for 6 months plus? He'll have all the opportunity in the world to cheat then, so it takes alot of trust and hard work to make a military marriage survive. It's something to think about.

During basic the only free time they will have is at night, and even then there is a TI in the dorm with them. They could not leave the dorm without the TI's knowledge and if they try to sneak out they will be in more trouble than its worth. So the answer would be no guys really dont have that much time do do anything short of study the info needed to graduate basic, and maybe socialize a little with the others but even that is closely monitored.

No, they don't have time to cheat. When they are in basic training they train all day, sometimes into the night. When its time to sleep they sleep. Too tired to think about anything else.

are you serious? I do not think they could take care of themselves, if you know what I mean.
They are not around the women. And the ones they are around, are women in bootcamp, and my husband will tell them, you wanna hit that go ahead...
bring some vapo rub to put in your nose from the smell.
If you are worried about boot camp, you really need to see whats going on with you 2. There are more chances to cheat when deployed than any other time. If there is any issues you 2 need to fix in that area, you need to do that stat.

Absolutely. BCT is fairly intense but when in garrison there are the hours from lights out until first call. I've spoken with basic training company commanders who have to go on "f*** patrol" because they were amazed on how recruits would find time and space to do it. She pointed out a footlocker under stairwell that was used for one such occassion.

NO... they are not really allowed to do much of anything on their own time (they even have to poop in front of each other) You have nothing to worry about except the quality of your marraige if you are worried about the ability for your spouse to cheat
P.S. my husband was in marine corps basic training, and they gave him a shot that disallowed him from even achieving an erection. (basic is 13 weeks long) not sure if they do that in any other services.

The answer to that would be no. There is not a whole of of interaction with the other troops except on Sunday when we get to go to church and occasionally on a smoke break.
