Highlighting my hair seems to damage your hair so much and I really need something to give it strength.

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth.

Sure you can. It won't hurt you or anything.
Remember though that pre-natal vitamins are just vitamins with some extra things for a baby, so you could try a regular daily vitamin first to see it that works. They are cheaper than most of the pre-natals anyway.

You also need to make sure that you are treating your hair properly. Since you color it, you should be using a good mask or deep treatment to help keep it strong and moisturized. Whether it's something from the salon or drug store, you should be using a heavier conditioner whenever you wash your hair, and ideally weekly or monthly treatments. All the vitamins in the world won't help if you don't use things on the outside too.

Sure you can take pre-natal vitamins since all they are is vitamins. I have a similar problem and went to the vitamin store and asked them to recommend a good hair vitamin. Nature's Plus makes a good hair vitamin as well as a nail one.

Yes, absolutely. When I was in school I knew this girl with long beautiful hair and nails. I asked her how she did it and she said that she used pre-natal vitamins. She was not pregnant!

pre-natal vitamins usual contain folic acid and calcium... i'm not sure if that will do anything for your hair. Your hair is already dead, so the only way to make it healthier is to get a trim often and use repairing conditioner

I don't see why not but vitamins are a supplement. You need to eat healthy also. You also need to get your hair trimmed and start conditioning with either a chlolesterol treatment or an oil treatment. Good luck.

yep I know lots of people that take them. You can also get just plain hair skin and nail vitamins almost any where. Eat a healthy diet and try a hot oil treatment.

I don't know if it'll combat your chemical treatments, but prenatal vitamins will make your hair and nails grow faster and stronger, no matter if you're pregnant or not.
