Because fattening foods hold all the taste in them and most of all the diet food are all dried out... ha ha..

it has to do with evolution. when humans evolved, fatty foods were a GOOD thing. they helped our brains develop and kept us full. the result? we ended up liking how fat tastes and makes us feel. of course fat is still good in moderation, but for most of human history, people had a very limited supply of food. now we have a lot more food available to us and our bodies haven't caught up with this new eating lifestyle.
that's also why the body stores fat so much.. for most of human history it was advantageous for the body to store fat because there was little food, so it kept your body alive. now there's a lot more food and our bodies are still storing fat like before!

Umm. I guess it bcos tasty food c/w more starch, deep frying.... butter. But diet food is o'ways so tasteless. lack of salt ya... i supposed.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
I COOK MANY MEALS A DAY THAT ARE NOT FATTENING AT ALL.ALL I USE IS SPICES HERBS AND HOT PEPPERS ONIONS AND GARLIC HARDLY ANY FAT.LEAN MEAT ETC,
