I had my wisdom teeth extracted about 3 weeks ago and I still have craters where the bottom teeth were removed. There is no pain at all, just annoying. I had a dry socket on the bottom right side yet there are still holes on both sides. The top gums have healed quite nicely.

I work for an oral surgeon, and we see people who take a few months to completely heal. I know it is obnoxious, but it will go away in time. There is really nothing that you can do to speed it along.

I would think it depends on how quickly each person heals. I had my bottoms taken out too. It was a long time until I could chew food or open my mouth very wide. Just think how deep those teeth were, and how much area it will take to fill that in. You might be suprised how long it takes. Maybe over a month since it's already been 3 weeks.

Actually, the gums heal amazingly fast after extraction of a tooth. They will heal before you know it. After wisdom tooth extraction, the gums need time. Best thing to do it try not to think about it too much.

I had mine removed 2 months ago, they were deeply impacted and i have had nothing but problems. Slight infection 3weeks ago and yesterday the evil dentist found a bone chip. So, I guess it boils down to your dentist, your healing time, the type of extraction and any other complications that may arise. I still have some nerve damage on the left side (numb and tigling lip), but it is getting better.

take it from someone who had all 4 of her wisdom teeth pulled!! it sucks! but as for the healing time, mine took about a month to heal with the holes filled in as well. You should schedule an appointment with ur dentist just for a follow up to make sure everything is okay however....

healing to where ther no longer is a hole takes approx. 6-8 weeks. healing to where you can start eating normally, 2-3 weeks. Unitl thay have healed and closed, try to stay away from eating anything with sharp edges that can irritate the spots. As long as they do not hurt, you are doing good. If you are doing so, try to stop exploring the area, this may extent your complete healing time.

I had mine removed about 1 1/2 yrs ago, they took about 6months to completely heal. I didn't have pain for 6 months but I had the holes you are talking about. They are still kind of lumpy but I think that is normal.

it takes about a month, first the blood clots form in a few hours or days, then the stitches are removed in a week, and then all the gum tissue grows on the sockets in a month

The craters can take about 6-8 months to fill in, but in another couple of weeks, you will probably not notice them
