I have to address the comment about we would still have slavery. Please allow me to ask how many ships bearing a Confederate flag brought in slaves? England was already pushing the South to outlaw slavery many think if we had they would have intervened and helped us. In any case the South would have ended slavery in another 50 years and I am sure both blacks and whites would have been better off. To your question here are some:

1861

Fort Sumter Win
Harpers Ferry Win
Manassas Win

1862

Pea Ridge Loss
Fort Donaldson Loss
Monitor vs. Virginia Tie
Peninsula Campaign Win
Seven Days Win
Manassas Win
Seven Pines Win
Shiloh Tie
Antietam Tie
Fredericksburg Win

1863

Chancellorville Win
Vicksburg Loss
Gettysburg (Southroners count it as a tie, yankees as a win (
Chickamauga Win
Chattanooga Loss

1864

Wildness Win
Mobile Bay Loss
Atlanta Loss
Petersburg Loss
Nashville Sad Loss

1865
Five Forks Loss
Palmito Ranch Win

The closest of all was the Battle of Shiloh. Without the mix up in command on the field, the Confederates would have won this battle. Gettysburg is also a prime example. If Lee had not moved forward and fought Meade on ground chosen by the Union, the Confederates had a great chance of winning this battle and possibly the entire war. Sharpsburg/Antietam was actually a draw. Had the Confederates had enough supplies to keep fighting, chances are they would have won this battle as well. If the Battle of Shiloh had been a success, the siege of Vicksburg would have never come about. This would in a way be a non military victory for the Confederacy. The Battle of Malvern Hill would have been a Confederate victory if Jackson had not been ill at the time and the plans drawn up by Lee were not misread by ALL commanders. Best of Luck, Mark

Gettysburg. The Confederates came very, very, very close to driving the Union forces off Little Round Top (on the extreme left of the Union line) on day 2 of the battle;had the Confederates captured the hill, the whole Union line would have been outflanked and their army forced to retreat - if they had been allowed to before Lee rolled up their whole line and destroyed the Union army.

The Confederates were better fighters and had better generals. They kicked Yankee butt over and over again until attrition put them out of business. The Yankees could replace the men they lost and the equipment. The South could not. The naval blockade put a stranglehold on them that finally paid off for the Yankees.

From Gettysburg to the end of the war, they only won one additional battle, and that was Chickamauga (September 1863) but was more of a Pyrrhic victory
