I want to place it onto the wall in a breakfast room, only it has a radiator below where it would sit. It will sit about 25 inches above the radiator. Does anybody know if this could cause problems?

hmm hanging electronic equipment near a heat source such as a radiator would not usually affect the exterior casings, however they do emit dry heat which can affect bthe electronic board inside by "drying them out" these are known in the trade as dry solder joins and can break your telly..

You will not have any problems with a hot water radiator 25 inches below it....3 inches and I'd say place a heat deflector over the radiator.

The plasma generates it's own heat from the display, so you may be able to turn off the radiator and heat the breakfast room with it.....I'm serious!

Oh for pete's sake.....I just looked at some of the other answers....I hate scare tactics.....

Many of the polymers the casings are made from will melt for flames but withstand a great deal of dry heat. Apart from the aforementioned dry joint syndrome (dry joints are hard to track down, it's just trial and error) nowadays there are many chips in tellies that need to work within certain temperatures or they become less efficient. A radiator shouldnt damage your casing unless it's scalding hot and the casing's touching but the insides may be affected. It's a good idea to have at least a foot of airflow around the telly where the air is coolest.

that would depend on how much heat the radiator is pumping out. it shouldn't be too much of an issue. if there was a problem, you would be able to see it almost right away as the damage would start with melting the plastic casing.

I used to work for a retailer of electrical goods and we allways recomended that the sets were never placed directly above a fire/ radiator, due to the heat transfer onto the componets could cause damage. Even thou you are gonna be 25" above it i would not recomend it as alot of manufacters will not cover this under waranty. Hope this helps, sorry its not good news....

No it wouldn't be a problem. To be honest you could turn the radiator down coz they produce tons of heat themselves!!!!!
