Because, through Jesus Christ you can be forgiven for your sins and be free to have a relationship with God now and forever. It will change your life for the better. You really won't believe the difference. I used to be an atheist. Now I'm free from fear, guilt, and thankfully - depression. The love in my life is hard for me to comprehend. Answered prayers continue to amaze me. We live in a dark world. Jesus is the light and the way.

I think that you should become a Christian if you sense that God is calling you to Him through Jesus. The reason I don't just say "Yes! You should become a Christian." is because if you just want to "try out" a religion then it isn't too likely that you will find what you are looking for.
Jesus said that no one could come to Him unless the Father drew them. Just showing up for church and saying that you are a Christian doesn't save a person. A person has to be born again by believing the gospel message and receiving the Holy Spirit into their heart.
1 Corinthians 15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.
John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Now if you are considering becoming a Christian that could very well be a sign that God is calling you to come and join his family. The reason that it is wise to become a Christian is that you will be freed from the power and the penalty of sin and go on to have eternal life in the presence of God where there is fullness of joy and pleasures forever more.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Psalms 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. 10 For you will not abandon my soul to Hell, or let your holy one see corruption. 11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

You know? This is something that you should want to do yourself, nobody should tell you what too choose. Though, being a Christian is wonderful, your whole life is fuller. You sometimes get to experience wonderful and out of this world things. However, it isn't always easy being a Christian. You go through stages in your life that you think God has left you or that He has forgotten about you. In these times you have to have the strength to fight these feelings, so that you wouldn't get lost. Personally, my advice would be: Go to someone you know is a Christian, talk to them and ask your questions about Christianity. Hear the voice deep inside yourself. Good luck to you, and I pray that you will make the right choice!

Should you become a Christian? Since Christian no longer means being dedicate to the teachings of Christ, but rather, that you repented, so now you can sin all you want, than no. Christian is just a word, which no longer has much significant importance.
As for dedicating your life to God and Christ, yes you should.

NO!The christians are praying in the name of the sun god.I looked it up at my local library. They are also very confused. There is a book at the library called The christians that will tell you allot about their"religion".As a matter of fact there is only one "FAITH"and that was the one that was ONCE delivered to the saints.I would strongly encourage you to do research on the name jesus it is a pagan name.It is an evil name. The original Hebrew Name for the Messiah was YHWH,which was translated into this other name. The name was never meant to be changed. The Scriptures say that one would come in his own name and he would be received.but that the Messiah came in his Fathers Name and he would be rejected. That is the Truth.

That depends. Do you want to live forever? Do you hate the sin in your life? Do you want to submit to the cleansing and transforming power of the Holy Spirit?
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You will have eternal life and that's a wonderful thing. To have Jesus as your heavenly Father & to know He is always there for you, He will comfort you in your darkest hour. He will never leave you or forsake you.

It's an interesting question because many of us became Christians not because we felt we should.
It usually started with an open heart to Christianity, i.e., seeking the purpose of one's life; thinking about what if Jesus is really true; reading the bible to see what's in it; attending Church service just for curiosity sake, etc.
During this process, God will reveal Himself more and more to you - who He is and His love for you. Many of us realized at some points that we need Him and fell in love for Him.
And when we acknowledge Jesus as our saviour who has come and died for our sins so that we are now children of God, perfectly righteous in Christ, we identify ourselves with Him as Christians. It's that simple but it's not cheap, for it costs God His only Son.
So, answering your question, start with an open heart.

Well, to be honest, I'd be a little wary of "mainstream" Christianity if I were you. Some of their doctrines don't make a whole lot of sense to me.
The LDS church has brought me a lot of happiness though. Check it out if you're interested.

Why should it matter what someone else thinks? Is Christianity for you? Only you can decided what religion is correct for your faith. What others think shouldn't factor into your faith.
Blessed Be )O( ...and I hope you find what you are looking for.
