YOU'RE AWAKE FOR FOUR

Do you mean you sleep for three entire days or you only sleep three nights out of the 7 we have a week? Or you could stay up two days and sleep a whole day. However you are doing it, it is not great for your health. Our bodies need 6-8 hours of sleep a night and if you are skipping sleeping sometimes and catching up on it other times it is still throwing your body off whack. You may end up aging quicker if you do this for long periods of time because our sleep schedule and the amount we are out in the sun with genes determine how fast we age so you could look older than you really are. If you are staying up 4 days and sleeping 3 then you have the chance for hallucinations. The body must dream it is imperative for brain health. Even if you do not remember your dreams you still do. If you stay awak for two nights in a row you can dream while your awake and it could be a real nightmare and you could even end up in a mental institution because you may think your are crazy but it is just sleep deprivation. Get 6 hours a night at least to 8-10

The average person requires 8 - 9 hours of sleep per night for normal functioning. When added that equals 2 1/3 to 2 2/3 days of sleep per week. Spread out over the week, 3 days sleeping is about 1 1/2 hours of sleep per day too much and studies have linked too little or too much sleep to a variety of health problems.

Studies have shown that "catching up on sleep" does not work. The body(and brain) need daily rest periods. If you only sleep on three days and not on the other days of the week, serious problems will occur including exhaustion, weight problems, heart and circulatory problems, decreased cognitive and higher brain function.

And this does not even begin to address other problems such as relational and social problems.

The best scenario is to plan for 8 - 9 hrs. of sleep per 24 hr. period. If you have problems sleeping you should contact your doctor to find out the causes.
