Chili peppers are normal chilies, although each variety has a different intensity of heat. If you can't find fresh chili peppers at the supermarket, buy dried chili flakes in the spice section. The label on the bottle will guide you as to equivalent portions for a standard size pepper.

Chilli peppers are hot. You can use green or red. Different types are hotter than others. If you want a mild alternative use red or green bell peppers.

Yes they are real peppers and there are many varieties. You can substitute them with any other hot peppers or, if you don't have any, try cayenne pepper or tabasco.

I don't understand your question. And why would you want to substitute it? Chili peppers are cheap and very common.

yes there normal chillies try scotch bonnet they have a good kick be careful!
