Sweet Thai has a complete different flavour, ideal for Thai salads and soups. To me, it tastes like anise/liquorice...

only thing i know is Thai's one has a thinner leaf
I mean the thickness of the leaf and it has a very strong smell
that can heal you when you nose is running
