Men need women desperately and they also fear their power. So men lash out in violence. I was abused by my first husband. This was his motivation. My second husband, he's the current one, treats me very well and loves my power. He never even raises his voice to me and I, in return, treat him like a king.

If one doesn't understand that there is evil, trying to keep us all
divided, they don't understand anything.
All the self-righteous criticizing an condemnation men and
women say toward each other, causes hatred.
It is said that both women and men take turns being in power
on this world.
The last time women were in power, there were a few who were noble, and treated men as equals. The majority of women
could have cared less about men like today. And the worst
was the Amazon Society. They killed the males and only kept
enough for breeders and slaves.
Things happen for reasons. Many of the struggles sexes,
races, and nations go through are karmic. Because of things
done in the past.
But we make coices in the HEAR AND NOW as well!

It is so prevalent in the world because sin is so prevalent in the world and most sinners don't want to have to work too hard to satisfy their evil desires so women make an easier target for them to vent their frustrations and rage upon.

As to what can be done to prevent it, preach the gospel and vote for godly men and women who will implement laws and promote godly values in this increasingly godless society. Violence against women has increased as this nation has fallen away from an absolute moral standard of right and wrong and men and women have been getting their morals and standards for personal behavior from movies and television instead of the Bible.

1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives-- 2 when they see your respectful and pure conduct. 3 Do not let your adorning be external--the braiding of hair, the wearing of gold, or the putting on of clothing-- 4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening. 7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Violence against women is caused by mothers. They cater to the needs and insecurities of their sons, waiting on them hand and foot until they are so helpless they cannot function independently once the are cut loose. They tend to latch on to the first woman who smiles at them in an infantile attempt to replace the servant who bore them and turned them into self-centered slobs. Once they find out that they have married someone who is not willing to perform this function, they react the only way they have been trained to behave, or if they are unable to attract a mate, they develop a deep distrust for any woman that cannot "measure up" to the level of indulgence they were conditioned to expect from their mother.

Because men get by with it. Religions tend to wink at it or look the other way, also laws are not strict regarding abuse of women. There is a lack of decency and compassion for women due to the fact they are 'sexually exploited 'And, because men cheapen and degrade women by putting them in a swimsuit to sell anything.A real man whether Christian or not doesn't abuse a women ever, and it comes under integrity.Society dictates " men are weak" in reality this is so far from the truth, it is a get -bye to do horrendous acts.To prevent it women shouldn't put up with abuse, laws need to be made, abusers needed to be punished, humanitarian laws need to be passed world-wide

fear and ignorance are the cause of all conflict in the world, in my opinion. i think there is violence against women because men fear them and are ignorant of them.

what could or should be done to prevent it? educate people. let them come to understand women. it would at least be a start.

I think the best answer I've ever heard to this is in Germaine Greer's The Female Eunuch - the section on Fear and Loathing. Greer argues that they are interchangeable and that men intrinsically hate women because they are afraid of them. It is very depressing.

The article didn't offer any explanations, but I think it's because weak (morally, ethically and spiritually) men have a sadistic need to subjugate weak (physically only) women.
They're not very evolved in that sense.

Because Cain still lives in all of us and the brutality continues. The blood of Abel still cries out. We must hear those cries and make it known that such violence will not be tolerated.

i think it does stem from the days when women were not equals Debra
and it has been passed down through generations of sons watching their fathers treat their mum as second best
so when they marry or when they are with a woman , they think it is normal also
hopefully as we encourage woman to be stronger and encourage our male children to treat women with the respect they deserve , this problem may lessen over time
we can only hope xx
