What is wrong to fear the lord if one is christian or belong to any other religion? I think a believer should fear the lord or else religion loses it's function.

Fear the lord will create a more disciplinary life and before you act you will always wonder if the Lord won't be angry or upset with you. You will always remember the Lord before doing something, talking, and so on which will become a sort of self control, to protect you from what that particular religion doesnot want you to be.

Someone who doesnot fear the lord wont fear to do anything at all be it something horrible, which can hurt a lot of people...

Fear the Lord is a must for the existence of religion.

I am assuming you already understand what "fear of the Lord" means (or do now after reading some of the above answers lol).

As a gift, you might try picturing what blessings would be bestowed on someone who truly has the gift of respecting and reverencing God, someone who stands truly humbled knowing their place in relation to God. Such a person would be a delight to God and their cup would overflow.

In the sense of "the fear of the Lord"

it means REVERANCE (RESPECT) in a holy way

But God has also said in His Word, "it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of a wrathful God" Its in the Old Testament. I am not going to tell you where it is, I would like you to reasearch the Old testament for yourself and that way you will learn.
